I've been chewed out for simply complimenting someone for their dps. I didn't mention numbers, etc just "wow, you're dmg is insane!" which the rest of the party responded with "OMG ARE YOU PARSING?! YOU"RE REPORTED ENJOY THE BAN! READ THE TOS! NO PARSE ALLOWED OMG!"

Forgot to mention: For myself, Parsing has helped me realize that I can stay in cleric stance longer. It shows me my over heals and helped me to trust the regen.

I'm sure I'm going to get someone mad, but the truth is if you have such a big problem with parsers I'm almost 100% positive your damage output is below average and your afraid you can't lazily go through content with out putting in effort and letting others pick up your slack. That's just my opinion.

I think you are correct that people who do not want parsers are probably the ones who dont do alot of damage, but I do disagree with your suggestion that the reason why they do low dps is, because they are lazy and dont want to put in any effort. If we all think that players who are anti-parsers are against it, because they want to keep their lazy playstyle and be carried, can you realy blame them for not wanting any parsers in the game?

Do I think there are anti-parsers who are lazy? Afcourse I do. But there are also players who want to improve their playstyle or players who do not understand how to improve. Can you imagine what would happen if someone saw their dps via a parsers and called them lazy, even if they are trying their best?

I doubt we would have any anti-parsers if players were using the number to help them improve and not judge or assume stuff.

Now, I'm not gonna lie, his post has somewhat a truth to it, like when I was in a ravana group for bird farm a mnk did 600. How can you seriously do 600 dps at ilvl 215 ? I can hit bootshine for 2-3 min and still do the same or more. This doesn't apply to all anti parsers however. But when you gonna be that low and leech of people, nah that's lazy.
If people gonna say its a mistake in their rotation, no it's not that's not a mistake or few hits that's wrong here and there, it's pretty much the whole thing the player is doing, being lazy.

The cameras are there to see if someone is breaking in and abusing my stuff. >:[ Making me vacuum up their dirt and burn their socks. Lol jk. I Don't care what you do in my house, just be nice and maybe pet my dog. When I'm at home I like to watch myself with the cameras I installed, because I'm sexy. ;D

Can you give another reason to the guys who dont want any parser ? If the parser is personnal they are not problem, if is a global parser they are again not problem. I think the discrimination in dps can be good, a dps who have 200dps is a dps who are lazy and who dont do hes job, like the tank who dont tank, like the heal who dont heal, a dps who dont dps need be know trough a parser, there is no discrimination in this.

That's not really comparable. Your DPS isn't some personal thing that requires privacy, it's your performance and effects the whole group. It's more akin to your boss keeping track of the work you've done and checking how well you're doing your job. While some people may not like that, it's perfectly fair.

If the reason people are anti-parser is because of some idea that DPS is a personal and private thing, then I really don't know what to tell you. It's not :P

See the example I gave to Lady Celes. Whatever your DPS is, you can always end with someone who want more. Enough DPS is not...enough.

But, you want another reason, I'll give you one. By being obsessed with numbers, we'll eventually deny any kind of choice, because the mere idea of losing this small bit of DPS is crippling. We'll reject some jobs because they can do slightly less damage, even though they're perfectly able to clear content. We'll either reject special skills on gear or make them mandatory, depending on their DPS output. Where's the part where games are supposed to be fun ? What's the point of having so much jobs if, in the end, you're restricted only to the optimal setup ? Why do we still complain that itemization is bland when we're the one to say that we won't even care, since, in the end, we'll only want the best possible setup.

And many pro parsers in this thread already stated enough dps is enough. If you do lets say 900 on BRD with a DRG in party and the other BRD does 1.400. You know there is somewhat a problem, and they both can be same geared as well. Many farms parties doesn't even have enough dps to clear/farm content, because it happened to have all the dps who doesn't pull enough. Now, If I do help people and there is a brd doing 1.1k and doesn't die and do mechs fine, I'll let him stay. And parsing again ISN'T JUST NUMBERS. Many including myself have repeated that, so many time's it's getting old dont you think my friend? How many people do you meet that gonna whine that someone is doing less, lets say 50-150 then the top dps in the group? Then say it's not enough? I'm very SURE, you don't see many. But if a person does 600-850 in a seph farm group, they better know how to play better. Just my opinion.

I could also give you tons of screenshots of people not doing enough, leech or just being lazy. That amount of players exist more than those you describe, so I don't really know what you are afraid of excactly. Or is it the fact you want to protect those who are so bad, you don't want them to be ''offended''?

Edit: Check on reddit, I think it's on the frontpage, a guy posted some parser info on the page there and there was DRG, MCH, MNK etc doing 500-700 in M4 normal and both tanks outspdes them. Those are the one's we want to fix, I don't really care if someone is doing 100-150 less or even 200 less than they should, but please ? 500-700? We all know those people are the ones we trying to avoid at all cost. And no the boss enraged at amazing 44%...
