Titan Extreme is NOT Fun

I haven't done it yet either but there should be some matchmaking possibility in the df to wait longer if you're looking to group with players who have at least tried it same-ish amount of times.

By the time I finally cleared GarEX I had done that fight dozens of times and knew the fight really well.

Completely opposite of you here. Titan is without a doubt my favorite fight. I stayed pugging for a bit learning his mechanics. Finally downed it in a pug group after a week felt good cause I told my bf I'd never pay for a win. said the same thing when HM was considered a problem. Now I continuously hop in pugs and run titan ex for fun.

Finally beat this monstrosity today! Titan is a joke if you actually have competent players in your party. My frustrations with Titan has never been how difficult he is, but how hard it is to actually find players who are capable of surviving till the end. You now there is a problem when ilvl90+ players start eating dirt right after the heart phase!

My raid group finally beat this tonight. If we had not I was headed to party finder to pay some group Gil for the win tomorrow.

I love this instance - absolutely my favourite of all the primals! The guitar rift post heart phase is addictive.

^ Pretty much this. I had that same issue finding competent players whenever it was pre-made or DF. People love to eat during before and during heart phase. Finally got through that abomination with a full FC party. The entire fight is fun when there are seven people who know what they are doing, but you still need to hold your own to make the fight go smoothly.

yep , i agree , i was stuck months on titan ex because i had a pride not to pay gil for a win and win legit , but at one day i had enough of constant party finder waiting , then wiping which was followed by rage quitting and more party finder waiting , then i paid 500k hoping to get carried and finally try ifrit , we won relatively fast and i was rather surprised i stayed alive for the whole fight which totally proves your point

I also agree with you. People think having high ilvl makes them a good player...
Yesterday I decided to try and get a primal group as healer or dd for a change, since I'm usually tanking. I couldn't even get into a group because minimum was ilvl90, lol.
But that's not the worst. (little story incomming)

After that I grouped up with a tank buddy and we started our own Titan EX group for a "weekly" kill (more like a monthly kill I guess).
My buddy set ilvl95, because he didn't want to mess with low dmg, and started looking for "experienced players who can dodge and will stick with the group".
Our first group did well dmg-wise but both healers were dead before heart phase.
The next tries we managed to get to heart phase, but there would be either a dead healer or dd and for some reason we couldn't kill heart, even with 20% buff, what a joke.
So we replaced some players (4 of them) and tried again. This time one of the new dds just jumped from the cliff while evading...well, we still don't know why he jumped because there were no plumes and no landslide at that time ><.
After a few tries we finally managed to get to heart phase and... horribly failed. Heart only down to 20%!!! with a 15-20% buff and all ilvl95 dds alive???
So we went out, did a few dungeon runs to cool down and then tried again.
New group, managed to get to 2nd phase with 2 dead...we tried some more and eventually got to the first add phase. But because people wouldn't let adds position I ended up in one of the landslides while a healer and 2 dds died in the bombs ><
Managed to get to add phase 2 more times and even saw superbombs once, but people would always die from plumes, get kicked by landslide or die in gaol because dds focus Titan instead ><

Yes, it's a pain to try and get competent players to finish these not really hard fights.
People either don't bother anymore, think a high ilvl makes them a better player or are just really really bad at playing their class.
It's demotivating to join a farm group and start wondering if you joined a training party by accident.

My FC just did this fight last night, to admit no we're not great players. Lag issues and all of the above, but besides the point. I enjoyed the fight, even being a DRG on it. It was a challenge and you do have to have some sort of planning to get through the phases. Sadly we didn't get to the heart because one of the healers kept dying but oh well we all went in there trying to learn it. Probably still going to be a long while before I manage to get a kill on it but eh..
