What is going on here? I tried glamouring some darklight gauntlets onto some militia plate gauntlets, which I thought it worked since it used up the crystal (that I paid 2k for when I only had 4k on me at the time) but the mitts didn't change to the appearance of the DL gauntlets. When I switch to DRG it works properly, when I switch back to MNK it screws up again!

Remember they said the glamour only works if the glamour can be used by the class that you are on. Darklight gauntlets I believe can only be used by DRG so trying to glamour them on MNK is a no go. If you look through the patch note in the glamour section you woulda read about this and not wasted your 2k gil.

They should have made it where you can wear whatever you want as long as you're not glamouring a DoM item on a DoW item or vice versa, for example. That is something I can live with, not this.

I've found the system quite expensive and bothersome, it's not very "simple", so I am going to leave it for a while. I think it could have been made more streamlined - no need for different tier prisms, etc. There is nothing I particularly want to change anyways right now.

So, how are you guys and gals faring in 2.2 so far?

I was staying up way to late for a working day because of it. (>_<; ) LOL! There is so much to do, that i was having trouble deciding what to do first.

So far, i’ve cleared the 3 new Dungeons (The Lost City of Amdapor, Halatali Hard Mode and Brayflow Longstop Hard Mode) and i was pleasantly surprised by all 3 of them. They are really good, interesting and fun to play. They had fresh mechanics and interesting mechanics, which i love to see more of in the future. (^_^ )-b

Next to that, i’ve started the Zodiak Weapon Saga for my Curtana (Paladin Sword). I was a bit hesitant to do so, due to all the complaints on the forums threads i’ve read while i was still at work, but in the end… It doesn’t appear to be that bad so far.

(Spoiler tags for those who want to do the quest first)

When you finish the “Up in Arms” quest, you will be told to gather 12 Atma stones, scattered throughout the world. Each Atma stone can be found by doing any FATE in a certain zone. Namely:

• Atma of the Maiden - Central Shroud
• Atma of the Scorpion - Southern Thanalan.
• Atma of the Water-bearer - Upper La Noscea.
• Atma of the Goat - East Shroud.
• Atma of the Bull - Eastern Thanalan.
• Atma of the Ram - Middle La Noscea.
• Atma of the Twins - Western Thanalan.
• Atma of the Lion - Outer La Noscea.
• Atma of the Fish - Lower La Noscea.
• Atma of the Archer - North Shroud.
• Atma of the Scales - Central Thanalan.
• Atma of the Crab - Western La Noscea.

Since i need to farm these items in FATE’s, i’ll be trying to progress in the Main story line and far FATE’s when i’m in the zone for the Main Story quest. So far, i got the “Atma of the Bull”, “Atma of the Scales” and the “Atma of the Twins”.

I’ll try to get more of them tonight.

It will take a while before we will be able to wield our upgraded Relic though.

I’m not really sure where i should spend my Tomes of Soldiery on… Should i go for the Weapons? Accessories? Or maybe some of the gear? As it stands now, you can buy Gear and Accessories, just by spending the same amount of Soldiery Tomes (like we did with the Myth gear before 2.2). You will be getting Weathered versions of items, which will have an Item Level of 100. You can then upgrade them to iLevel 110, buy turning them in accompanied with an Oil of Time(?).

So far, i have no idea where you can get one of those Oils and how hard it will be to get them.

The same applies to the Weathered Weapons. You can buy them with “Rowena's Tokens (Soldiery)”, which you can buy at Rowena for 130 Tomes of Soldiery each. Seeing that you need 10 Tokens for each weapon (7 for the Paladin weapon), you will still need 1300 Tomes of Soldiery before you can get the tokens you need. On top of that, you need an “Unidentified Allagan Tome” as well, but i don’t know where you can get them…

So many unknowns! \(>_<; )/

Btw, i got the information regarding the Weathered Weapons/Items mostly from Reddit and Rowena’s shop in Mor Dhona. (^_~ )

Hi hi,

All I have done so far is farm a few Atma for the Zodiac part of my relic, got 4/12 so far and am indeed hoping to get the rest before the end of the weekend.
It's not as bad as people make it look, it's FATEs, yes, but I have survived worse grinds.

I'm also looking forward to what comes after.

As for the other content, I'll see soon enough. One thing at a time. :)

I started with doing some quests, farming T2 a bit (got a bracelet for my BLM!) and checking out the new furniture.
Did the quests for glamours first and I really want to try them out but... I have no idea with what item to begin with xD

Then I started with the new mainquests just to find out that I didn't finish the last one from 2.1 xD
While being in the area I hopped over to Ellie to start the Hildibrand quests and... whoever writes these: Give that Sir or Madam a medal! I am HIGHLY entertained! (And glad I am not done yet!)

During the evening I made myself a Google Doc with the new quests and their location so I could print them since I only have 1 monitor and always switching over to Firefox can be annoying.

While being around, I read many people asking if someone has Atma stones yet and how they are annoyed. Well, I am not too happy about the FATEs myself but atleast it looks like it will take a bit more time now, what I actually liked from the old quests of 1.23.

I am sad. I finally had caught a Titanic Sawfish pretty much just a week before patch just to complete my fishing log, but then because fish had no real use then (and I didn't forsee this happening) I vendored it ; ; Now it's back to Cape Westwind to curse out those Silver Sharks and hope for another one, cuz I sure ain't paying the now-going rate of 300k for it on Hyperion's markets...

Other than that though I'm loving 2.2! The new dungeons are fantastic, I can NEVER get enough Hildibrand, and and and and and.... so much stuff! I also managed to come away from Amdapor with this dapper new BRD shirt:

8/12 Atma so far on Gae Blog (I kid you not, I teleport to East Shroud and kill Prince of Pestilence and get my atma there in like 1-2min). Central Thanalan is being the worst for me atm for its atma, but I shall persevere.

I'm loving 2.2 thus far, but I'm keeping my ears perked up towards the how-to on where to get sand/oil/unidentified tomes. My hope is that they're NOT tied to the venture system.

Atma is being mean to me... 80 fates and not even 1, I swapped from Thyrus Z to my Wiyu Z because it took me that long to figure out I can have any Zenith equipped, doesn't have to be the one I started the quest on *laughs*

Had a crack at CoB6 and we managed a high of getting the blasted boss to 45%... but then we got eated. XD again... it's a tricky one to figure out!
I finished main story and maybe tomorrow I will hunt down everyones favourite inspector.

OMGooosh the 3 new dungeons are a blast (Brayflox pun just for you Rogue and Thal)! Short and so very sweet... I hope new future dungeons are just as fun~!

Have your zenith equipped and make sure Up In Arms shows up in your journal under Completed --> Side Quests? If not, try being in a party to help achieve more gold ratings and hopefully you'll be raking in the atma.

I always have a gold rating because as PLD I spam flash, flash, flash and more flash. But nothing happend.
For the party stuff... I don't join in a fate party, because I try to complete the main quest and the hildibrand quest, so I travel a lot, joining in every FATE met

I got the 1st 3 Atma's pretty fast, but it has pretty much come to a halt since then. I had to farm for 4 hours to get the 4th one. After 2 more hours of farming, I have yet to receive my 5th one. I had to stop farming them, because I need to cap my Soldiery tomes and i'm getting pressed for time, but truthfully... Not getting a single Atma stone for hours does get to you and I find myself getting increasingly more frustrated with each fate.

On top of that, getting kicked out of a dungeon (by the game itself) after a string of 90k / 10105 errors, just before the final boss or getting stuck between doorways at The Lost City of Amdapor, doesn't help your state of mind either.

By the Twelve, the lag in dungeon instances are nerve wrecking too...

On the other hand, i'm enjoying the main story quests and i'm looking forward to do the Hildibrand quests. I just need to take care that I don't burn myself out on the frustrations i'm facing right now.

Got my white tigerfists this morning and am now working on the first trials to get 2 Strength on it.
It is a lot less tedious than farming the Atma stage.

This first trial consists of slaying 10 sets of 10 mobs, 3 Leves, 3 specified FATEs and 3 dungeons (a low, middle and high level one)
And I glamoured my monk a little.

Great work guys on the Atma! :D I have not really been trying, as in real life I am supposed to be focusing on my university assignments... Hehe. But, I don't mind with the FATE farming - it will help me unlock master crafts!

I used my first fantasia to change my male Miqo'te's skin tone many months ago - he was so pale and pasty, which didn't seem right to me once I got used to playing him. I changed to a rather tan colour. Well, my Free Company members had made fun of how I looked (racists!) so I used my second last night! I actually moved across to the right (the darker colours?) but right to the top of the colour palette. Looks much nicer with the blond hair and blue/green eyes now, I think! I like that we can edit our characters so much.
