I will never be ok with the same music playing in all areas of the zone, that is ridiculous.
FF11 had so much more music and many more zones its crazy to thing the DEVS have looked past this.

The German version of the letter also says they're "working at full speed to bring about dramatic changes to Eorzea." I think Perrin_Aybarra is right, and they're using Eorzea to refer to the game in general; even then, that doesn't rule out changes to the landscape as well. Here's to hoping it's in their plans somewhere down the road!
That's so vague, why can't they be a little more specific, we're clearly asking for map re-designs and progression revision (more so the former) so why can't they say if "radical changes to Eorzea" means what we're asking for or if it means they are adding dungeons and some aesthetics and some beastmen lairs here and there because depending to what extent they take this it can be radical too and it could have changed nothing with regards to how the zones look in general.Quote:

I think you might be remembering things a bit too fondly. Generally speaking, there was only an average of one music piece per region. Most of the areas were silent. Musical diversity went up when expansions were added but even then more locales have no audio than those that do.

Content planned for the original run of XIV likely went through O'Ghomoro, Gyr Abania, Paglth'an, and Xelphatol, which gives us 9 regions compared to vanilla XI's ten.
I think I've made my point. Especially if you look at the original FFXI soundtrack pre-Zilart, more than half of it is cutscene and character creation music. There wasn't really a ton of music in the original, and considering what we're looking at right now is really just a subset of what should've been "vanilla XIV", I think it's more or less on-par. If they add music to the hamlets and perhaps something in camps, they'll probably be ahead of where they were in XI.
Still more then we have now compared to then. Also you would expect more this being a second MMO from such a rich as hell company.
Good point lol. It still amazes me that they can't even release patch notes the day before the actual patch... it would prevent the whole speculating and emotional let down that a lot of fellow players are experiencing when a patch is announced. Also so secretive it's annoying.
