I would hate that kind of western approach to this game, this is japanese game. What you suggest is typical western zoophilia fetish and i hate it very much. That's not only Japanese, but it's Final Fantasy.

And I'm not saying we need to go that far with Miqo'te, but it's a bit ridiculous to act as though anthropomorphic animal-like characters don't appear in Japanese media. Sure the nekomimi style is also popular there, and I think it should remain an option in this game. But that doesn't mean it has to be the only option.

You sound like a hypocrite. You realize people say the EXACT same thing about nekomimi? It's for perverts who are into cats and dogs. If someone wants a more beastial character like khimari that has NOTHING to do with whether they are a furry or not. And if they are, who cares. Its a pretty harmless interest :/

The thread is about giving male characters the option of having body hair and more facial hair. As Niwashi said it is not only Japanese, nor is it Japan. It's Final Fantasy.

I don't even have words for this. I don't know how you can say that wanting more fur on a cat person is the same as being sexually attracted to animals, much less how you can say it's typical of Westerners. The last time I checked, zoophilia wasn't considered normal here either. Human beings can be very hairy, so it makes sense that cat people can be too. That's all there is to it. There's no weird fetishist agenda as you've explicitly described here. I have my doubts over whether you knew what the word 'zoophilia' meant when you threw it into that sentence. ._.

No not much other than that response.

Although, a few months ago in the EU Fanfest (?) I believe an interviewer asked yoshi or one of the japanese devs if/when there'll be more facial and/or body hair.

The response was that they're aware that this is a request by the fans. They'll look into, but there are already alot of stuff to do. That their getting better at working with ps3 limitations.

But never a yes or no, so I guess that's good?

Not to necro this post but there is a certain nexus mod on the internet that allows for roegadyn males to have body hair, and for males to have nipples. For those interested in that kind of game quality of life. If you find it use it at your own risk, as it most probably breaks SE's TOS for tampering with the game. :)
