SE has already designed them though :P
They are in most of the concept art just not in the game.

Concept art means nothing. They probably have concept art for vieras and every kind of wild ideas, not to mention several different concepts of manthra. Concept art is exactly that. An illustration of a concept. Some concepts get implemented, some scrapped. Some require tens of pieces of concept art before an acceptable result can be reached, some never get to that point.
This thread shows quite clearly that people have very different ideas of what a male mi'quote should look like. I can already see the complaints that would explode if SE finally decided to cave.
More variety is always a good thing....however, the idea that someone is unable to enjoy the game due to not liking the current race options smells a little like a tantrum - "If I can't have the ones I want, I don't want to play with any"
Get over it. If it comes then good, if it doesn't then don't try and claim that not having them will ruin your experience. That's just sad.
All three people standing in that video at :25 are men, none of them have breast and all of them have very masculine jaw lines and stances.
Miqotes are based after domestic cats. you ever see a male and female cat together at the same time.. theres very little difference between the two, i assume thats what they're planning on doing, so it stands to reason why Males would be effeminate "looking" doesnt mean they'd be acting effeminate.. Just means they're good looking males. SE has a trend for makiing their male characters look effeminate and most of the time they kick ass, look at Kuja? badass pretty boy and he destroyed a planet in little less than 10 seconds..i still think Zidane and Kuja need cat ears...
Male miqo'te huh... hmmm....
o.o I saw female (elezen? tall but weird ears.. tall hume maybe?) -> female (miqo'te) -> male elezen.
The armor just covers them up/flat-chested. I saw nothing masculine about the miqo'te.
Though I have seen one picture that looks like it MIGHT be a male miqo'te. Or just a female with a very manly looking face. Don't have a link. Someone already posted it. There's no way to say for sure whether it's male or female though. Only SE knows.
Anyway, this is a lil off-topic. XD I WANT PLAYABLE MALE MIQO'TE! Please~ ;3
I took a second look and I see what you mean. I still wouldn't say it's male for sure though. Looks like it could be either male or female to me, but at first glance I still think "female."
Male miqo'te would be a really fun plus ingame and on a general note a new possibility as a character creation... our chars starts to be really olds since the xi, just changing names of races, skins and better graphics looked a bit too much "recycling" to me.
Having the possibility to play the missing genders could also make some frustrated peoples playing/playing again.
Male miqo'te? Yes please! That's actually the race I wanted to play...
Implementing the other genders shouldn't slow down other projects much, i think...
Yes!
It would be of such contribution for the game uniqueness if Miqo'tes had Males as well as Roegadyn females.
But something I would like, if we are to consider the character creation, is a larger amount of Hairstyles and characteristics thus the existence or possibility of visiting a Barber/Hairstyler for a considerable amount of Gil to get some extra Hairstyles or Characteristics. Also Why my Miqo'te can't have a ribbon on her fuzzy tail... >:(

Llan Hana.
No way i would give up my cat girl for a male one. NEVAH !!!!
It could be nice to see those missing genders however, FFXIV is not the type of MMO that actively encourages you to build multiple characters as opposed to WoW or Aion. The best proof of that is the extra fee to make more than one character. If you already are lvl 50, chances are that you're gonna be pissed because you dont want to start everything over to play a gender you initially wanted to play as.
It pissed me off soo much in Aion to have to start everything again if i wanted to play another class. Its a bit too late to introduce new races. Either now or later. Can you imagine in XI starting from scratch and bringing the new char to the level of your main (gear, access, missions) !? This game would be more suited for a barber shop, additional hair styles and micro transactions for character remodeling.
Yeah. I've done it three times total on FFXI. I've got my Taru which handles the caster jobs (White Mage, Black Mage, Summoner, etc.), my Mithra which handles the more agile jobs (Ninja, Thief, Dancer, etc.), and my Hume handles the more straight forward damaging jobs (Dragoon, Dark Knight, Warrior, etc.). Why do I do this? Because I cannot see any one of my characters doing all of it. It doesn't feel right. It's a weird "RP" preference of mine. And to be honest, I would really like to do this on FFXIV also.
The OP should put a tag in the title of this topic so it gets noticed. :P
Yeah. I thought I already told the OP to write a devtag in the thread, too. Haha!
I don't think there's a dev tag for adding race/gender combinations unfortunately. Unless I've completely missed it, in which case I urge someone else to post it so OP can add it.
There is no current Dev Tag valid to this issue.
Even though there is no dev tag currently linked with this, I included two that would seem a plausible dev tag to fit under this category. Dev1002 & Dev1004. It's not exactly right, but maybe they'll pick this up now and maybe change it to a devtag of it's own agenda.
You could just make a Devtag of like Dev1099 (Lastish?) and name it "Suggestions for new Character Appearance Options" XD
I'd be outright shocked if this ever pans out to the point of making new playable character models. If absolutely anything, the furthest I can see SE going is having an NPC or two for something storyline-related.
I know I was asking for Female Galka back when XI was still in Beta in Japan. :/
That would just be a huge tease to the people that wanted to see the missing genders as playable characters. In my opinion they only have two choices:
1. Don't add them at all as playable or NPC's.
2. Or add them as both playable and NPC's.
And not adding them would just give more people reason to whine about the races being the same as FFXI.
While the addition of these would be nice, I don't feel that their absence really detracts from the game in any meaningful way.
Well they have alot of things to do other than this. Id love to see it but i think id actually be disappointed if they found out that they had spent time refitting all of games armor and weapons to fit 3 new race instead of bringing the game to life.
28 pages on something thats not important to the game at all. This is why the serious posters stay away from these forums.
