Going into T9 Blind, FC mate says,"Have fun with Ravensbeak. Bet you're going to kill the melee"
I kited the boss. Yeah. He was right, I killed everyone. No one died to Ravensbeak though! +1 to me.

I think my worst one is when we were doing titan hard mode and while shifting between ps3 buttons for attacks and buffs I accidentally clicked sprint, no TP I was losing enmity to everyone. So, I proceeded to run around Titan to try and gain his attention (dumb, I know) and in a panic ran off the ledge.
I charged into battle against 6-7 mobs, opening with a tomahawk throw and then tossing out a few overpowers... I didn't notice that I had somehow accidentally targeted myself so overpower didn't go off and I stood there like a fool while my party died around me before I realized the problem. Good times...
I was in Titan Hard and one of the tanks would just jump off the edge for fun. We wiped 4 times before we kicked him. We got up to 40% Echo before we beat him.
Another was i was farming Coil 4 and two times in a row we got two tank friends who would mess around the entire time. We wiped on Coil 4 3 times. That is the easiest one WTF mate.
Tanked T8 in Sword Oath... Twice in a row before realising it. Or at least tried to tank it until the first dreadnought, and then died.
The shame.
Used to Shiva EX's mechanics, decided to stay in that mindset during a Shiva HM trial. Pointed Icebrand at the party to share damage.
In HM, Icebrand doesn't split damage. Entire party dead, except me.
In my second dungeon I had run headlong into a larger group of enemies and was just about to flash when I accidently hit the select button on my xbox controller. That made me also accidentally switch the position of flash with another spell, and, in addition i noticed for a while when I couldnt cast that I was locked into some hotbar eiditing mode. Finally managed to correct the spell position and exited... luckily no one died and none commented it. That was hugely stressing.
Lol being on the wrong cross hot bar as I'm pulling ruining the mark placements in the process.
Only been at endgame roughly a month.
Second run of ST. On the Glasya fight. Squires are summoned and I go off to fight one. All his health is dropped BUT he won't die. Comments are all "Eyri, what are you doing?" and I say "It won't die". We wipe. Many folks LOL and I assume it bugged out on me. I'm made MT which I took as a compliment... But now realise it's because the group thinks I'm the lame duck. :(
Run ST later that day. Same thing. "Oh man this enemy is bugged" but then some glorious blonde haired hunk of a tank shows up and actually explains that I'm meant to drag him into the laser. Felt like an idiot. Tank you blonde tank!
Went to grab adds in T7 today and popped Sprint/Sword Oath instead of FoF/Bloodbath. Needless to say my FC though it was hilarious. '>.>
Obligatory sprint into boss fight.
Did about 4-5 attempts on T12. Whenever my PLD Co-tank takes a Revelation he would complain about the lack of shield blocks even with bulwark on.
His shield was not equipped.
... For a full hour no one noticed.
Pretty sure everyone here has done Shiva EX a lot, and then Roulettes Shiva Hard Mode, and Sword-Mountain Busters their entire party in phase 1.
Currently only lv20 gladiator.. Think end game palidan tank.. wondering where to put attributes.. haven't spend any..
For some reason it won't let me make my own thread here.. any help appreciated
My best tanking derp is from my first time at Heavensfall. We had someone that had cleared giving us instructions in voice chat, but his explanations aren't always the best. He said "Everyone stack on A" so I did...
Nael sat on my entire party. :c
I started the fight against Aiatar (Brayflox's Longstop's final boss) with Shield Lob, then Provoke and I ran to the bottom of arena to drag the dragon, but I hadn't noticed that the Ninja stoled my aggro. Result: the ninja died in seconds after two attacks and one dragon's breath.
In T13, final phase... my turn to eat the Ahk Morn w/ Holmgang. Turns out, Holmgang was on CD....

So I've just started doing hunts for my Grand Company, and am looking around for my target. I pick up a few friends along the way with the same objective in mind.
We finally find our target, I ask if everyone is ready, they confirm they are. So here I go:
I run forward, shield lob. Boom. Oh he's angry now. I run towards it, it runs at me. I swing my sword........Miss
It completely bypasses me and continues on to slap one of those squishy mage types upside the head. *facepalm*
The Rancor! It Feeds me yet Consumes Me!
Those feels when you pull the entire first trash pull in ST and no one takes any mobs off you >.<
Was tanking first boss in wod when I saw it titan egi roll up and drop a molten puddle of crap on the boss. I've never played summoner, and while I know titan tanks and had an enkindle I've never actually seen anybody summon it in a duty with me before.
I stared at this anomaly for a full fifteen seconds as my mind tried to find a comparable situation to relate to, until I dropped dead from a doom I hadn't noticed.
Typing in party chat to explain some mechanics to some new folks, somehow my cursor exits the chat window, always when I hit the letter "r"....
Autorun FTW! Guess we are ready now.
FUnny thing is this one person was like "moron"....but I was able to get thangs under control and we wonz.
Anytime I'm doing endgame content after levelling an alt and forget the first go around about Shield Oath. Usually I catch it around the time I can't beat out our Ninja or the Black Mage is lighting a fire under my aggro bar.
On the plus side, I've learned I don't need it to hold hate per se. But it gets dicey without it. But every time it happens I learn how to push the limits harder.
I did Cutter's Cry till after the second boss, without Shield Oath.
I spent all the time thinking how the hell I was losing aggro so much, even flashspamming, till someone told me "btw you forgot oath"
I am still kinda new to tanking so I was doing a run in Tam Tara nm and it felt a little off but I thought that was cause the healer kept running off and pulling different mobs with aero we get to the last boss and one of the dps got disconnected so I was giving them a minute to return ( I partied up with that dps to help them with that dungeon) after saying wait a second the healer rushed in and pulled the boss >.> . We beat the boss it was a little bit longer than it needed to be being short a dps when I get back to the open world I look at my gear I had the heavensturn sheep helmet on the whole time...
The worst Derp for me would be forgetting when I AM NOT a Tank and pulling mobs as a healer or DPS then being quickly reminded when my HP drops to 5 or 0%
My biggest one I can think of was during Titan HM, I was MT and tomahawk'd Titan after he did his jump attack...and I didn't realize I was at the very edge when I moved back to position him away from the center. Laughed the entire time I was falling to my doom.
So I joined this T9 party as a WAR right, DPS not MT of course, anyway I am rocking a pretty high burst combo (No defiance) when all of a sudden Nael turns to me, and pops me with a Beak. OW that hurt, anyway she jumps away for lazer beam and I think nothing of it, I run to her and hit her another time to finish my zerk combo and I stack for beam to help with the DMG, well....I forgot I was hit with beak, and blight goes off....yeah....
I ran Stone Vigil (normal) and the healer was new. I forgot to explain the mechanics of the first boss, so the healer bit it when the boss was around 40%. One of the DPS died as well. So it was just me on warrior and a level synced black mage tossing me the occasional heal. I used all of my cooldowns and finally the boss and I killed each other at the same time. Love the self healing a warrior can do. :D I made sure to explain the rest of the bosses.
Mind-blanked a few times during an important swap in T13. Kept going with my 1-2-3 and by the time our WAR provoked, Rage of Halone was still going and I ate a facefull of Ahk Morn that wasn't meant for me.
It's now called getting Atreus'd in my FC. 8/
Started learning T13 last night. Second add pops for the first time. I'm like "Oh, I should provoke it and pull away from the boss!" right? I kinda forgot to target it. Provoke + OP on Prime = roasted static. So many lawls on night one. Come to think of it most my memorable derps came from provoke. "Oh brand pass! (T12) Don't screw up!" Boss runs away with main tank....forgot to provoke eh?
I went and Tanked a Snowcloak after taking a long break from Tanking (Several Months). I was feeling pretty confident but the DPS I went in with had be outgeared by a fair bit and they were in a hurry.
So they started pulling things, and I panicked and subsequently forgot about every skill in my arsenal other than Overpower.
So much for remembering your training.
As soon as I hit 30 gladiator I did PLD quest. I was so amped, instantly queued for the two new guildhests for the first time completion bonus xp. Run up to start... My cross hot bar (ps4) is completely changed since I was no longer a gladiator.... Took me a solid 30 seconds to find some enmity generating skills to use...
