On a side note, the following made me LOL. Guess I'll play a different title while awaiting the fabled xmb message. God, I wish I could turn my status to offline. I can already feel the others on my list wondering why the hell I'm playing Defiance today of all days.
Btw is weird that SE told us that the info about this was going to be from PSN is like them washing their hands on this issue, i understand that it may be psn fault maybe? but SE has to be with us even to tell bad news but , keeping us informed

Just to add to this thread, Im not able to access the game due to same error about not having a valid service account. And I got my CE code from GAMESTOP which I entered Thursday. I got my code 6-18-13 and waited this long? I played in BETA3 and 4 and now can't access game at all for EarlyAccess? I did delete the BETA game client as I had the PHASE4/game client so hopefully that didn't trigger something?
So can we delete game client with old dates and download new one? Or have they no updated that?
That's quite possible. If you dl'd the client during he affected dates, it could be the issue. On your XMB, go to acct management, transaction management and services. Click Ff and check your service dates. If they show start of 8/13-8/15 and end of 8/23 you are suffering g from our problem. If not, it is another issue entirely

Well, I got fed up with not getting answers from anyone in charge, so I called Sony. The wait wasn't long but the news wasn't good. I was told the only information they had to offer on the issue was that we should continue waiting for a message in our XMB. However, the time frame for receipt, when I asked, is supposed to be sometime "early next week." The lady I spoke with also DID NOT recommend using your refund to buy a copy of the Standard Edition as she did not know whether, once the code was sent to your XMB, you'd be able to upgrade from the Standard Edition and get all of your Collector's Edition items. Sorry for the bad news, folks. Hopefully they get a handle on this a bit quicker than that.
I didn't receive a message in XMB either. I can load and log in now, but it won't start. I just get the opening cinema when I click start, over and over.
K so it worked.
Step 1: delete all final fantasy files (your save is on the server, no worries)
Step 2: submit a preorder code
Step 3: reDL EA client
Step 4: Update
Step 5: enjoy
Then you can play while waiting for SE to send your PSN message
ok so im gonna try the same too. My transactions said Starts 8-16, Ends - Remaining 1. We can reuse the preorder codes?

No. You have a different issue. The problem we have is not that the client is bad, but that our licensed permissions were revoked when they pulled the game from the store on 8/16. Either you entered the wrong code, got a bad region, or it just isn't working for some reason. Try reentering your code now since they supposedly fixed the bad code issues, or call SE. Or see if Gamestop will print you a new code.
I read earlier that someone said that if you buy the Standard you lose the Collectible items I believe that to be false
hopefully devs and mods stopped playing during maintenance with time to spare and see us stuck in here... XD
OK, I got the same issue "No valid or active..." and I also bought the CE from the PS store. I received an e-mail on the XMB and got the refund and the code to download a new CE wich I'm doing now. I also unistalled the previous version (P4) and I hope this solve the problem… but I will not know until I got out of my job later.
Maybe we can hope for today.
