Just a bit curious...

Any of you who start fresh has also started any craft/gather class yet?
Moreover... how do I start one? Because unlike FF14 which can give us leves to start, I have no idea how to start one nor any reference of which craft suitable for favorite battle jobs.

just look up recipes and start crafting...thats pretty much it. they're guides on how to lvl up certain crafts and just go at it

This is the best advice. XIV improved on this aspect vastly in that regard. Welcome to the epitome of RNG.

For those of you still on the fence, this is the most active linkshell I've ever seen. Lots of people getting stuff done, lots of talking, it's pretty fun.

In just two days I managed to get 3 or 4 job classes from 1-50.

Hopefully this gets made into a company or something in ARR. Most people seem to be from Balmung so it would be easy to set up.

Come on over man. The shell seems to be pretty active around the clock. There's a constant wall of green text in my chat log during NA prime time it's quite fun.

While you're at it. Sign up for the Linkshell Community too. From there you can link your characters to a Guildwork account and vote what we should do for this coming weekend's linkshell event.

it's okay, i never got them to drop in years of playing on my main character. this is just square's sick sense of humor at work.

I went 1/1 on Lizzy, too, but in a weird way: I was camping it against others, and someone got the claim. I watched the fight... and the guy DC'd in mid-fight! I took Lizzy, finished him off, and got the boots :)

I ended up buying the PC version and reactivated my account.. then realized I have no clue what my playonline password is, apparently.. From what it looks like, I'll have to call SE or try that webchat in order to get it reset. Soooo, I should be back on Phoenix hopefully sometime in the next few days if things go smooth enough. I'll send a /tell when I make it in

You can change your password through your Square Enix Account that way you won't need to contact a customer rep.

The playonline password? I tried changing the SE acct password to see if it would also change the playonline password but no luck. I didn't see an option anywhere in account management to change the playonline password. Did I miss it?

Square Enix Account Login > Under Service and Options in the sidebar click "Select Service" > Playonline/Final Fantasy XI > Options List > Bottom of the page should be Update Playonline Password

There are a few of us from hyperion who started playing XI again and were on the carbuncle server. WE usually play evenings. You can look for me under Ceciliawhite handle and play with the few of us if you want. ^_^

Well I re-downloaded the game and am waiting to see if I can reactivate and transfer my old character onto pheonix. Started a new character while waiting though.

Just wondering when you guys are on to get a LS?

Hey guys, I had to start over to get my beret so if you could send me a /tell tonight to Xeqtr when you are online that would be super! (originally Bunka)

My patching finally completed this morning and I was able to login. Soo many great memories came rushing back from just seeing the title page and character select screens.. Then I logged into the server, and after ~2+ years of inactivity I pop in Dyna-Xarc LOL! Surrounded by mobs, I am already facedown in the dirt after only a few seconds of playing! That brought back some memories too..

Anyway I quickly realized that I have no clue how to do much of anything anymore (especially since I lost alllllll my macros lol.. and I had TONS) so looking forward to grouping up with you guys at some point and getting back into it. I am Exnigma, so send me an invite if you see me on :cool:

started my character on phoenix! Lalethe is her name. unfortunately, im disconnecting quite often for some reason. it was fine when i played a year ago though O.o any suggestions? D: my actual internet connection is stable

Hello all, managed to get my old character reactivated^^ spent last night working on macros, my god do I have a ton of them to do. My name is Shatain, please send me a tell to join the LS I get a lot of play time in the winter as I work outside.

I was so stoked when I logged in so many good memories, I missed FFXI. I'm looking to expereance the great story lines again and to complete the ones I have not yet done.

Hoping there is some adventurers on the ls wanting to have some fun.

You guys are making me want to play FFXI really badly again, especially with winter break from college coming.

My 2c here and don't get me wrong, as is.. at this stage I would not pick XI. Just doesn't seem like a temp game. I have not played it in 2 years... But i just can't see it being any less time demanding now then it was when first level cap started to get increased... I rather not get caught with my hand in the cookie jar come ARR (meaning committed to something and 1/2 way in to it)

When they started to raise the level cap is actually when XI got way way LESS time demanding..

Plus I figure we got at least ~5months+ before ARR actually launches, and in the meantime I can have some fun in XI and XIV beta. My hope is that this group from XI starts up a shell or FC for ARR, making for a really good start when ARR does launch.

There is literally someone on 24 hours a day. I was surprised even last night that the shell had as many people on as it did considering they had reopened the XIV servers. Plenty of people, plenty of discussion, plenty of opportunity for good times. Just keep trying any of the names listed in the OP.

There are plenty of us, a lot more than I had actually anticipated. There should be anyone available at any time of day to get you a pearl.

It's really only a permanent game if the people you play with are playing it permanently. The shell we started consists primarily of FFXIV: ARR fans so when that goes live I foresee a massive migration. A lot of us are just reactivating characters to experience the storyline from the beginning. I personally am starting fresh on a newly created character but there are certainly a wide array of job levels currently in the shell.

This isn't the first time someone has suggested this. If there's enough interest and we could all coordinate our migration I'd be more than happy to facilitate it. We'll see how things go in the coming months.

So I was homeless for 5 weeks due to Hurricane Sandy and while in exile I found FFXI in a partition on my laptop! 2 days of updating and i was in! I dont know much about XI but i'm enjoying it so far. Met a few very nice people but no XIVers yet. Can i join up with you guys?
