I am just getting back into the game after a break, and was looking to see whether this had made any movement at all.
If Japan don't want it, fair enough, I have never made a character over there, but understand the game is played differently from what I have read. US, EU and OCE, though, while most people don't seem that worried about it, I don't know any who are actively against it.
As usual, given I cannot play during prime time, no RW's for me during the Moggle event, as they will not "flick the switch" and let me go play it on EU. :(
Am very much in favor of allowing DC travel between US and EU, one less alt to maintain and more easily play with friends from accross the ocean. For majority of population this would likely be a good thing and there's not a huge culture shock compared to allowing to japanese DC, also for those who have to work odd hours would have an active datacenter at different times to run roulettes and other content. Currently having to either jump into alt or meet in Oceania DC to play together is far from ideal.
This old thread again?
Just green light NA and EU, No there is no 'but muh cultural differences' i play on both, there are no massive earth shattering differences like there is with Japan.
Japan can be exempt so its solved.
imo french players are some of the best people to play with. not necessarily "the nicest", but definitely reliable and friendly when you get to know them.
they seem to come in two types: type 1 understands and speaks flawless english, type 2 understands english as well as type 1, but speaks it with such thick accent you hope they would just speak french!
I hope it never happens.
Just use OCE if you want to arrange a visit with your friends, make a DC alt. Communities have got fragmented enough by dc travel.
Cross-DC really is the best solution to this problem. You would not need to deal with the hurdles of DC-travelling, and you would still be able to do whatever you like to your heart's content.
You don't seem to understand the purpose of this post. It has nothing to do with making a "everyone goes to Aether to raid" situation worse.
It is as simple as an EU player on an NA world wants to stay with their friends on NA, but then travel to EU for better ping when raiding. Or vice versa. NA players in the EU region travel to NA when raiding.
It's really as simple as that and there isn't a good reason to be against this. It's just not nice to ask people to endure bad ping like that when raiding when SE can solve that issue.
Eu player on NA here. goes without saying i would love this of course. Chose NA for the rp community. But would have loved to be able to travel back to the EU to PVE and stuff. My guild here on NA is awesome and all.. but their raids and activities happen at 02:00 at night over here. Not always i can join those.
As an Oceania player, boy are there some culture clashes, like with hunts being pulled before we have time to broadcast, people not waiting for cut scenes to end before pulling last boss, and more harassment (and more blatant, public harassment) of female characters. PvP is full of Voyagers shouting commands and gving up the second it looks slightly lost.
And I don't even raid. I don't know what's changed there.
Added to that, if you don't need to meet up in Materia, we lose a good chunk of our new friends who are filling pfs and roulettes. Not to mention no one will run content on Materia. Most of us still have links to our home servers in EU, JP or NA. So many people will just be here for housing.
So there are gripes, but also huge positives for us.
That isn't a culture clash. It happens in absolutely all regions by trolls. There is no "culture" where that's actually accepted by people; the people who do it are generally blacklisted and kicked from shared spaces, in all regions. The 99.99% of people don't do it in all regions; it's just the 0.01% of people, much like is the case in real life crime.
In my experience, this is usually due to people not looking at the party list. It's a sort of concentration issue that people have. They just go and pull the boss out of habit and then if they realize, then it's too late. Fortunately, most last bosses don't have lengthy cut scenes.Quote:

If people are routinely going there who are from NA and EU then that's brave of them to endure that ping and quite surprising. I would think the ones that mostly keep going are actually getting favorable ping or alternatively benefit from the lower population ie. avoiding DDoS attacks.
Good sense would mean we wouldn't all clog into one data center for raiding, and not cause the current issues. But yet we do.
And I don't think bad ping is going to stop some people. Many people from OCE and Europe and all over the world already chose to raid in NA. This is a 333 ms tick game with some extra time for every mechanic to top it off. EU *will* lose some raiders to Aether, and it'll be enough to made the raid scene there a bit more empty.
It's possible we're getting all the blacklisted players from overseas and have to weed them out ourselves.
Unfortunately, the kill time on last bosses has become almost negligible, and even a short cut scene can mean no boss. This game's balancing is terrible. People are also a lot less apologetic about it. I've seen an Alliance Raid jump off the sides because they pulled too early.
We do notice the population rise during DDOS. But I think a lot of Voyagers are here for non Logical DC friends, or to do content that may not be easy to get into on their servers eg hunt trains and Chaotic.
Not criminals, but it's f-ing horrible when you pull something early that someone has spent 4 days prepping. I have nearly missed out on marks I have prepped because someone went "Oooo, S Rank, yup, nobody else would want to fight that."Quote:
So you are equating people who "early pull", which doesn't exist, and are in there full right to engage with hunts whenever they want, with criminals?
Of course they can. But they don't get info from websites, and it's become more prevalent since DT.Quote:
I do vaguely remember at Dawntrail release that the issues happened during OCE peak hours, which shows that people from the OCE region can do these things.
Please reconsider this feature for 8.x, I would transfer from NA to EU in a heartbeat to play the game with good ping but still have the ability to travel for my NA raidgroup. This would make my evercold experience amazing! Also it would allow people to enjoy content at all hours, also you might find east coast players playing on eu more because of server stability and so forth. It'll also make peak play times more wide, when EU is dead, go to one of the quiet NA DC's to raid/queue for content and vice versa.
PLEASE SQUARE ENIX !!!!
I am once again asking for full cross region dc travel
It would be awesome if we could cross travel, a fair few EU folks from 1.0 played on NA servers as EU servers were not really a thing and before shadowbringers the ping wasn't really an issue but has been even since the Data Centre got moved, I would have probably transferred years ago but then I would have to blow up my house which I really don't want to do and I do have mates that play NA as well that I don't really want to cut ties with.
