Please stop hiding miqo'te ears (and other races') from certain head gear

So with the upcoming lifting of the glamour restrictions, I have been checking different possible outfits and pieces in preparation, including head gear. During this process, I found some... interesting pieces in the level 70 crafter gear bought from scrips. Check these examples below of the Augmented Millking's Cap and the Augmented Forgeking's Bandana, respectively:

As you can see, the ears just clip through without any holes or adjustments, which is exactly what viera got in their latest ear update. This is why we must keep asking for proper care and design when it comes to ears (and other racial traits like tails). If miqo'te just got the exact thing that viera did, then this is what would happen.

Small correction:

These are 1.0 sets. When the game went so hard with graphical fidelity that they made it nigh impossible to run on anything but higher end PCs of the era. (This is also why gear from 2.0 and the first couple patches consistently have notable tail holes, too.)

The gear from the 7.4 dungeon will have hoods that hide the ears of miqo'te. See below:

On another note, let's hope it's dyeable this time. Only two dungeons have dyeable gear in DT (93 and 97) and, as for the weapons, only the ones from the Skydeep Cenote (level 95) can be dyed.

I freakin love these sets. But yeah. That's a viera in the center, too. I miss ear hoods.

I got this in the level 97 dungeon Vanguard and was surprised something so late in the game has ear holes. This is awesome! This should be the gold standard. Do this ALL THE TIME!

Calfskin Rider's Cap.

I have learned that, apparently, certain (maybe all?) earrings will not show for viera when wearing hats and activating the option to let the ears through. Head pieces such as the Forgerise Cap, the Calfskin Rider's Cap, the Babyface Champion's Headgear of Healing, or the Bozjan Cap of Maiming will simply hide the earrings worn in this case.

This is why head pieces should be designed with the different races in mind: those with larger ears should have head pieces with holes for them to poke through as needed and the earrings should definitely show!

I miss the ear socks SO Much. And proper ear holes.

I find it disturbing whenever an eared race lacks its main racial feature. It feels like you're just playing a human with a more distinct face.

They did manage to add earholes successfully to the Vanguard hats for Aiming, Striking and Scouting...

But when they tried adding ear pockets to the Fending and Maiming helmets...

They're way too small and way too forward, it's almost like they think Miqo'te ears are on their forehead.

That's a running issue across almost all ear socks, even when they were done frequently. There are very few hats that look like they actually fit the ears comfortably.

I would have thought they'd have some kind of quick reference template for the placement, but it really just seems like "put two little spikes anywhere on the sides of the head and it's good enough" was the design philosophy.

Another patch full of new head pieces that hide miqo'te ears, such as the hats you can obtain in Windurst.

Actually the hats in Windurst have ear pockets. They are based on FFXI gear that has ear pockets, although those wrap around the back of the hat and connect in a more unique design, but they are ear pockets and other races don't have them. The FFXIV version has separate pockets for each ear but they're there.

There are tail openings in the body gear, and the butt flap on the MNK AF is removed for tails. It's all based on FFXI gear that all has these racial differences. It's the most racially aware gear we've gotten since 1.0.

The Jeuno and San d'Oria gear didn't do this, so it's a big improvement. I have complaints about the Windurst healer pants being the wrong design/color and also the boots being part of the pants but none of that is relevant here. This combined with the Fanfest announcement of being able to do a /visor-like change in the appearance of body gear makes me wonder if this is a taste of what we might get with Evercold.
