I guess we all got an answer to where the billions of "multiowners" gil go. Silence.
I think this case is closed. Everyone can make make their conclusions.
Most of the standard Forum users dont even have the knowledge about the ingame systems to make conclusions on that. Just take a look at the Novice Network when it comes to housing. The Idiots sry I mean Mentors are still providing 4 years old or even older information down the line to Sprouts. Most of them are still clueless about the Purchase Flag, FC Master change, Lottery cycles etc.
And you want those kind of dumb players to make assumptions without any proves and facts? Well just go ahead to ask for it. It just ridicules your real good reasons to make people aware of it.
These are not bots. They are individual FCs likely owned by the same person on alt characters. You can't bot the lotto.
Again, they are not bots. Multi-ownership is not botting, two completely separate issues. The lotto has effectively killed botting in the housing world.
Selling FC houses is a thing, yes, but most likely you're looking at a multi-owner who's either using these FC houses for the workshop, or building a little housing decoration enclave, or both.
If this is the case, report it to the Special Task Force. But understand that these RMTers tend not to keep pictures of their actual properties up, many of us have found them in the past to report them this way.
This isn't anything new, plenty of people before you have found this is going on and reported it. Repeatedly.
The problem with this is simply that there are many players out there who do own multiple FC houses who aren't doing anything related to RMT with them. Workshops/RP spaces/housing décor. It's almost impossible for a GM to discern who is doing what with a property. And as multiownership does not violate the ToS, GMs hands are tied. Not to mention they do not touch anything to do with RMT, that's the Special Task Force's wheelhouse and theirs alone.
If you feel this is possible RMT, report it to the STF on the website, otherwise, well... nothing to see here. Just someone using houses in a way you don't approve.
What's with the complete rando showing up and acting like they're tough shit and then disappearing???
I am not talking about the fact it was implemented, I am talking about the feel of the ward.
When you have an entire ward full of shiro castles, nanpu skins, mokuzo, kura zukuri, half timbers or whatever else really that is sort of or fully on theme, and then some dude swoops in the middle of all the nicely made houses and puts a bright bloody red or bright pink gingerbread house, I am very sorry but it does ruin the neighborhood yes.
I'm sure that person was an alt tbh, either of OP or one of archeron's buddies
I'd saw owning more than a few is unnecessary and greedy at best since there's only so many houses and someone who would utilize it looses out to another that owns many. People that have like half a ward, or multiple wards make it smell like rmt tho, regardless of if you disagree with me, but most I know would follow the same thought process.

Ive not played wow so no, i would not be a wow token enjoyer.
When I say utilize it I mean letting someone else utilize the housing system. If I own 10 personals, I'd be preventing 9 others from being able to use them personally
If someone worked their butt off to get multiple houses, then they earned them. Sucks for people who missed out but you snooze you lose.
14163 open plots on chaos, damn multi-owners! I can't win a private house ;;
If I were to use the same logic that "a poster or two here" are using, I would come to the following conclusions:
- All people who cleared P12S and TOP must be botting or cheating. I can't get through Phase 1, so nobody should ever be able to do so legitimately.
- People who collected Triple Triad cards must be botting or cheating. I can't understand that thing well, and I just keep losing, so others must be up to no good.
- People who got Saint of the Firmament in Ishgard must be botting or cheating. I couldn't even finish an expert craft and I never figured out how, so why can others?
- People who have the Big Fish title must be cheating. I was never able to catch Cinder Surprise or Ruby Dragon, so the players who got them clearly manipulated the RNG in their favor.
I could go on and on, but I'd run out of valuable time at this rate.
Owning personals is restricted to 1 per world. There are relatively few people who own more than 1 personal house now, and the number is slowly dwindling due to attrition. This is a red herring.
Edit: You can't own more than 8 houses on a World anyway. Hyperbole falls flat.
It's not my fault I wanted to play on a populated world and square doesn't scale wards with server pop. The whole reason I refuse to give my alts house up is either I wait till the new expansion when there's only a few bids at most on smalls, or deal with what are usually hundreds of bids on them and lose what I got with no competition on the plot.
Blaming square enix for you wanting to play on the most populated server and not being able to get a house is really on you when you choose to play on a server with a high population. If people didnt care more about wanting to play on a server with high number and care so much about housing there are low pop servers with lots of housing still and can make use of datacenter travel.
I was not criticizing where you choose to play or how many houses you own. Your argument is that "owning more than a few is unnecessary and greedy at best since there's only so many houses and someone who would utilize it looses out to another that owns many". That doesn't apply to the majority of servers anymore. Balmung players are notorious for portraying their high population server experience as the norm when it comes to housing and this thread is no exception.
Let me show you what an fc ward looks like on a normal server that's been around since ARR. Does it look like people are being denied housing? I've had no neighbors for 7 months. On most servers there are enough fc houses that taking 1 or 8 or a whole damn ward has zero effect on the people looking for personals.

Choices come with consequences. You made your choice. Now you get to deal with the consequences.
While I want to see the system improved, it's hard to be sympathetic with those who won't take the necessary action to get what they want. You could have had a house on Dynamis and still used data center travel to play on Balmung or Gilgamesh or whichever NA world caught your fancy.
You decided the house wasn't important enough to you.
In the meantime, I have a nice large on Marilith that I got with zero competition and I use data center travel when there's need (mostly to buy cheap crafting mats but occasionally for things like hunt trains). Unless the Xbox release swamps Dynamis with new players, I'm going to have a nice time at 7.0 launch playing the game while others are sitting in log-in queues.
Also you're dreaming if you think there will only be a few bids even on smalls when the expansion gets released. That's when the population explodes and demand for houses increases.
Everyone wants to come play on Balmung and then throw a fit when there's no available houses on the server. There's plenty of other servers to go get houses on and you can simply world visit balmung like all the other ERP tourists do.
I hope they split servers off of Crystal or Aether and put them on Dynamis as a way to spread the server load lol
Yeah, no. I'm not willing to have my server transferred to your DC just because your DC failed. There's a reason why they didn't do that this time. (unlike in the past with other new DCs) It absolutely sucks having your server moved.
Why don't we move Marilith to Aether then? Maybe we can give the others to Crystal/Primal. Just dissolve your entire dead DC lmao
(or maybe don't because that'd be just as stupid as moving a world to Dynamis in the first place)
