Hmm, yeah I'll concede that maybe trash talk is a bit immature. I guess what I really meant to say is that I don't think trash-talk is antithetical to competition or is unsportsmanlike.

I mostly don't type much in game chat other then hi and gg. I do think it's bad when people are scared to give advice or direction to players, which hurts newer people who may be doing something poorly but not know because people don't want to come across as critical.

Though I think some level of moderation is needed I do think currently it feels like I'm walking on eggshells a bit too much and I usually end up keeping to myself because of that.

This should also be in no way to say I want people to be outright toxic ect. I'll always be against that.

The problem is that people will often get offended on other players' behalf. So you can joke around with your friend and they'll get mad on your friend's behalf.

yeah which hurts the social aspect of this game Imo, because people are afraid to mess around or have fun it leads to a very quiet game with a lack of community.

I think theirs a key difference between being outright harmful (aka being toxic and mean to someone for no reason ofc shouldn't be acceptable) but at the same time I'd love to have a bit of friendly banter and stuff even with random people.

I don't think the problem should be "solved" by the community just saying "hi" and "gg" keep to yourself sort of mentality. At the end of the day it creates a very boring social system I'd honestly just run duties with trusts if they weren't so bad because thats about as much interaction you'll get with anyone anyway.
