As they want to be so inclusive to all types of players with different level of skill, I guess then can't go overboard with incoming damage as you guys say.
Even randomizing the incoming damage so it isnt as predictable is something they are clearly going away from. That is actually what I personally found the most fun when healing in other MMOs or in PVP - you are always on your toes and sometimes need to heal very quickly out of nowhere. This just isn't happening here in PVE sadly. Especially new fights are 100% predictable, for example compared to Leviathan extreme the damage was 'kinda' random with unmarked line-shaped tankbusters and people hitting themselves with reflect and the add phase appearing at different time of boss mechanics depending on damage etc, was actually pretty awesome fight!
Yeah, they dont want that anymore it seems... So I definitely agree with making the healer rotation more interesting, maybe having WHM and SCH as the straight-forward easier healers and then developing something harder on AST/SGE so people have choice if they want a chill gameplay or godmode optimization levels of 'fun'. When playing these perfectly - the harder counterparts should slighthly outperform the easier ones to make it fair, but of course all the healers are able to clear all content easily. AST is already almost there - its quite hard to play optimally tho it needs a slight boost in rDPS compared to WHM to feel more rewarding.
Tank healing should be nerfed and it probably will be, tomorrow - lets hope.
