Whoever doesn't want to use huge cinderblocks of win over the current crap PGL has is CRAZY! Those things are awesome, especially on a lalafell lulz. I didnt like em at first, but everytime I see them they grow on me. Walking around with big glowing bricks of pwn is just too awesome to me.

I like all the weapons honestly, totally win. The only one thats really meh to me is the lance because it looks closer to a fence than a lance. Too many pointy ends. That bow is the shit though. God damn.

Can someone get the pizza out the oven?

Yeah, he forgot how just before Ifrit weapons came out people were calmoring for more fantasy/cartoony designed weapons since it's a Fantasy game and all, then after they get it they complained it's not 'FF' lol.

What a wonderful treat to wake up to this morning. I'm loving these new weapons. A bit surprised by some of them, but I like them all the more.

I do wonder, though, if Dawi is correct in his hypothesis that those weapons will be class-only. I mean, the Job exclusive weapons are right around the corner, so there's no surprise that there would be Class-exclusive ones as well. Either way, they're a welcomed addition if you ask this guy.

And the Garuda Weapons! I am absolutely LOVING the Bow, Staff, Scepter, and the Talons! I want those in my collection!

Fantasy and Cartoony are 2 different things... And 2 different issues... we should try not to lump them together.....

Sooo dumb to come out with more weapons.....ive been playing since beta, and i must say ive been one of those rare players that hasnt complained too much and have really liked the game, throughout every patch....but these weapons are kinda unneseccary. Look at how many weapons there are from lvl 45-50...do we really need that many weapons? Its nice to have a choice i guess, and the new ones do look really cute, but geez se.....save some weapons for when you raise the level cap. >.>

I don't really get the point of the folding animation...I mean I get it for archer since the bow is pretty big but the other jobs I wonder why bother...

I wish you could decide whether or not you wanted it folded up or opened up, and that dictated how the weapon acted when used. A folded weapon could be slightly quicker but not as powerful as it's form that is opened or maybe could deal a different type of damage type, say for the great axe, folded could deal piecing type damage and unfolded could deal slashing.

This is exactly what I was thinking.

I'm just glad we're getting content and to each it's own. I think Garuda Claws look pretty awesome.
We're still far from fighting with a beach ball with blades on it like in FFX.
There will be plenty of choices for weapons so just pick one you like.

As much as I like the Darksteel Blocks, I do hope that Pugilist starts getting fewer joke weapons. Moogle fists I can understand and I love them, as joke weapons. The huge block fists aren't a serious design in any way, I hope. I mean I just can't see that weapon getting the green light as a serious weapon. I mean I'm all up for some joke weapons but I'd like some really badass stuff for PGL/MNK as well.

The Garuda Talons are my favorite hand-to-hand weapon so far though, definitely going to be using those all the time if I can help it lol.

Remember - it takes them 6 month to design one new weapon/gear............... 6 month for a block with glowing engraving

I thought MogKing/Ifrit were done quite well since they fit their intended purpose, but this is seriously "WTF?" material to me, at least for Gladiator/Pugilist/White-Mage (would mention lancer, but I don't care about it anyways), which don't look like serious grand company weapons at all.

I'd love to see someone say this as they're skewered by that lance or getting scorched and beaten by the fiery blocks. They look... Interesting, but I wouldn't consider them joke weapons. Could easily deal serious damage, which looking at the companies' current situation, Damage Potential > appearance. That is if you bring it to the aesthetic level.

ANY weapon will look better than the stuff from launch, hell i could have a sword made from stuffed trout and it'd be better...the launch wepons were almost fisher price simple looking. I do like the pug weapon...i could see me now bricking some poor mob in the face.

I also hate how they are going heavy transformer. It's fine to do that on a few weapons but now every weapon they have been releasing is "OMGS MEGATRON".

You have to admit, there is very little you can actually do with hand-to-hand weapons. XI's weapons were variations of the same thing. Likewise, other games find themselves in that dilemma. At least the weapons look believable and of plausible size, unlike WoW's fist weapons that are huge by comparison.

That's one worry put to rest. A big reason why WoW's gear loos so dumb is their horrible scaling.
