Female Hrothgar as a playable race. Show your support!

Yoshi said they'd consider this if there was support - and I really want to see female Hrothgar!

i am just gonna quote a FC friend: you shouldnt be forced to play a gender just to play a race, and i would love to see both races get both male and female options so that we all have the choice to play what we want.

While I am mildly disappointed with the gender-locking, I am pleased to hear that they are taking criticism from the playerbase into account. And if that means that they will add female Hrothgar at a later date, then I am all for it. +1 for my support.

Given that all communities exist on the same forum we can actually go over their thread and give a like to that post as well. This may help show that the communities are united in their desire to see both genders become playable. I'd suggest popping it over and give it a like just like you did this thread.

I'm just here to throw my hat in the ring for support. My girlfriend is pretty upset that she won't be able to be a Hrothgar alongside me because of the gender lock, and Viera doesn't appeal to her like a female Hrothgar would.

Jumping here from the Male Viera post, continuing my train of thought from there. On top of seeing people really wanting Male Viera, with the introduction of Hrothgar, Ive been seeing tons of art of muscular bestial cat ladies and I honestly think it would be a cool thing to introduce into the mix. We have Roes who are somewhat muscular but seeing a female warrior beast would be a very nice addition and new body type for the ladies here in XIV. We see a lot of thin women on XIV that, aside from the female roe, aren't that muscular at all. It would be rather cool to change that up with a brand new body type on a brand new style of race.

I hope to see them implemented as well as Male Viera, because having both races have their full race rather than half of both would be fantastic. For a game like XIV that is sub based to have genderlock, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Lets get our warrior queens!

I fully support both races having both genders, and since both have been shown to exist in past games/lore I do feel that they should be included.

I truly hope that SE takes our comments into consideration, there are so many of us who won’t the options of playing a female hrothgar or a male viera.

I don't support gender locking on either of the new race. Even though I more want to be Viera I think the Hrothgar is a cool new race as well and Would like to see some she-cats

It is a huge disappointment that genderlocking races, something I highly disagree with has returned to FFXIV. I hope this decision is changed and we get Female Hrothgar.

I second the male bunbun and female hrothgar petitions. I'm not happy with the decision of gender locking those races - I can understand why they might stay due to time constraints but please consider releasing them along 5.x.

Gender locking doesn't make sense; Ronso were already depicted with females in FFX and male Viera do exist per lore - Nothing stops them from leaving the woods to join a cause that, in the end, protects their forest (Like a nation leading a world invasion or a flood of light destroying the world). Aside from the lore easily fitting playability it's amazing to have more variety as more people might find that nieche to identify with.

There are no downsides and many benefits, so please consider adding the other halfs.

Please do make every race gender-inclusive.
I personally was looking forward to playing male Viera.
I would love to see male Viera, whether it is as a smaller version to the females or as a similarily lean version or any other.
The same goes for Hrothgar, more big burly femmes would be a welcome asset.

The argument that the lore says for male Viera and female Hrothgar to be rare is not a valid excuse as male Miqo'te are also very rare, yet they are playable (thank you!).

Viera and Hrothgar both give you the opportunity to get more creative with body types, sizes and overall appearances; this would be even so much better without the gender lock!

Please consider our honest plea to say No to gender locks!

I've been reading through some replies seeing if I could upvote some, but most of you are either rude towards people who want no gender locks, bitter about this or extremely passive aggressive; none of these will help our case or benefit you individually.
Please be respectful and kind, the Dev team have been working hard on all the new content and YoshiP even saying that he's reconsidering the gender lock really shows how closely they pay attention to us players and make sure to provide us the best game play experience within their limits.

I have seen a lot of great fan art spring up in the last few days for both Male Viera and Female Hrothgar. While I have no plans to play either I still empathize with those who do want them.

I had always hoped that Hrothgar/Ronsos would be to Miqo'te's, what Highlanders are to Midlanders. It's disappointing to only have a male option.

One of the biggest reasons I chose to play this game, was because it doesn't have gender locks for races or classes. While I'm not getting my hopes up, it's nice to hear that Yoshi P and the Dev team are at least willing to hear the player base! That alone is enough for me.(: It would of course be wonderful to have female Hrothgar and male Viera of course!

This is of course not a confirmation of female Hrothgar in any way, shape, or form, but this indicates that they are aware of the outcry and that they are listening to us. So stay vocal about this people.

As I said in the male viera thread, genderlocked races are an antiquated concept. And female Hrothgar seem like they'd be really cool, and honestly pretty different from the usual. I'd play one, dang it!

there's plenty who would love them and they already canonically existed in X so although i'm not the kind of person to play them myself i feel they have a right to exist for the people who would love them and enjoy playing as one!

As an XI player for years that dabbled in 1.0, I still remember how freakin' beyond thrilled I was when the first male Miqo'te screenshots were released during 2.0 development!

I think I'd feel very differently if either Viera or Hrothgar were absolutely verified to be female or male only (like the Galka in XI- they were 'male only' but not REALLY male if you wanted to get technical, they actually constantly reincarnated. Male Mithra existed, but canonically were also rare enough that they were actually gently, but forcibly kept within Mithra towns and cities to help ensure that the Mithra had a breeding population- they were literally not allowed to go out and adventure at all, thus why there were no playable male Mithra.)

However, we know that male Viera exist (to the point of XIV lore having even been specifically created for them) and we know female Hrothgar exist due to female Ronso being very present and existing.

Give us the bunnie bois and lion ladies!
