For a legitimate response though, if you're on Fabul, you really don't need to be scared off. As an average player on Besaid, you won't run into much RP unless you're looking specifically for it, and most of Besaid is actually quite nice, RP and non RP. It would be terribly silly to let your anticipated fear of having to interact with people who have customs different than you dictate your choices to such a degree, don't you think? Imagine if you applied that theory to real life: you could never leave your house!

So, to anyone on Fabul who's nervous, you really don't need to be. As long as you're a respectful and mature player, you'll be welcomed with open arms, and able to find lots of cool new people to party with. :)

The Besaid people posting here have not done themselves a service convincing me they are normal. Also look at every other server that's being merged into by another world's forums and you'll see very excited people saying things like "Welcome Wutai members!" with positive responses going both ways.

There is a reason why that's not the same in this case..

Why? Because a percentage of the population of Besaid (and I'm beginning to believe it's sizable) want to act like they are Uthar Arsedigger Dark lord of the imaginary realms who was former commander of the legion of doom before their doctor told them they needed to quit because it was bad for their blood pressure. Now they are an alchemist of the relms because they are in search of the recipe to Levatol.

And what was this decision based upon? What merits were taken into account? Just apathy?

Don't pay much mind to Molly, one of her server-mates told me she got hand-held to 50. So, this is more than likely someone who doesn't know very much about the game or how communities work.

And judging by the overall pattern of non-battle progression (or lack thereof), I'm likely inclined to believe it.

I really didn't want to feed the fire by posting here again but I grow worried about the people merging to Besaid so I thought maybe it is best to throw in a more positive note. Fabul, we welcome you~ our server is big already but with you it will be so much more wholesome! There is a large community here of mixed players, and I seen new people come and get welcomed almost every day.

After spending some time on Saronia (where I started and returned for a few weeks to see old friends) I found it had been very quiet. Partys shouted for what seemed hours(and that was someone outside the pts observation) There was some really awesome people there though and I think this merge will be awesome for them. After playing around in Saronia I dabbled in Selbina a few weeks as well. Selbina was also a very nice community, shouts were more frequent, the JP community seemed larger then Saronia and Besaids combined. The population was a bit higher then Besaids but it looked the same, just a few more bodies running around Uldah then in Besaid. *Hugs to all the wonderful friends I made on both these servers*

Please don't worry about a rp side of the community, we are very small and I don't think for the 100 or less players in it that you should be too terribly worried about us. If you wish to go out of the way to avoid rp, it mostly takes place in the miners guild and the marauder ship bars. I also promise you people don't get un-repaired or bashed in pt's by role players as to find a actual ls level up party in roleplay is almost unheard of. The gentleman who stated this , well Im sorry you disliked Besaid because I enjoyed Selbina, but in the 2 yrs I have been here have never seen this kind of behavior. Heck I would say 80% of the people who role play are very casual at it and In the end game linkshells.

Roleplaying is very small in Besaid. Just like the normal player base they grow tired and move on to other games. Many ran off to Star wars. The whole RPC(Roleplaying community) can fit into one linkshell and we do. It would seem awfully harsh to leave a server over a few handfuls of people who you will barely ever see roleplaying.

Please, Fabulians, Besaidians, and everyone else, lets drop this silly matter. Does it really matter if role players wanted a role play server? It doesn't hurt anyone. Lets look forward to this future merge of all our servers, make new friends, welcome old ones back, and look forward to bigger community's. I look forward to meeting you Fabul <3 Especially you Hiir <3 And thank you molly, for standing up to your new merge partner.

I made a second character months ago when I got bored with my main. Made it on Besaid. Got quickly invited to 2 linkshells and some random person gave me 20k in gil.

And we don't like the RP's because...? GTFO

The server isnt as bad as some people are making it out to be, I dont understand the hate behind some people wanting to avoid it like the plague either and coming in here and outright bashing it.

Yes there is RP, yes sometimes some of them get a bit on the annoying side, and several of them here have flat out tunnel vision to the fact that anything is ever wrong.

The nice part about it being the unofficial RPist server is that we have a HUGE non RP community that can drown them out. People act like all we have on the server at this point is RP and they are a bit blind themselves.

Besaid is super friendly. Theres a few rotten apples that fell off the tree but you will find that anywhere. As thedivis stated yes, its easy to drown out roleplay. As I stated on the last page, we all fit into one linkshell. Is that really so bad?
Those outside Besaid please notice it is the -same- people from Besaid posting over and over. Do not judge our server by a few peoples opinions please. Most of Besaid find these forums to ridiculous to go to to even know whats going on(in my case depressive.. My kids are more mature then many who post here.. ) While some of us post because we want you to know that were just people too.

Honestly, I've not seen any RP in /say in quite some time. Most keep to themselves and you'd really have to look for it to find it from what I've seen in the past months. People act like it's a big deal but there's a good chance you'll probably never see any of it if you're just playing the game.

You know what though? Let them think what they want to. If people are going to let the concept of RP existing ruin their game then we don't need them on Balmung anyway.

I'm a player on Besaid who doesn't roleplay at all. You hardly ever see it, if ever these days. The existence of RP on the server doesn't affect my experience at all since I don't look for it. I find I see a lot more "normal" players around these days anyway.

Come on guys;
We are always putting people into two sides and arguing till the end of time in these forums.
Casual VS Hardcore, RPers VS Non-RPers. What's next? People who use Danburite Rings VS People who use Goshenite rings?

Can't we all grow the **** up, get along and move on?

for all the anti RP people seem to think i spew(yes i admit to trolling them when they do it right on top of the camp im at or my LS spot) i do it for fun and in a way that may amuse some of them. however, it has been a while since ive had to do that(id say 2 months maybe?)


its the beauty of it being an unofficial server, you can have the best of both worlds, you have your RP community, who, as long as they advertise where they are and keep it actively open knowledge(they have been majorly slacking since these forums opened almost which i believe is why people stopped coming to Besaid for RP) then people will know.

and to top it off, people who arent RP will still flock there due to the fact its a good community who anyone can join in on(a majority of our population has come to us due to word of mouth on how great a server we are)

What point are you trying to make.. because I've never seen a RP anything on Fabul and I can say amen to this. Stuff like that does you a discredit. Normal servers don't need to convince people they are normal.

Regardless your past the point of convincing me, I've see enough and it's too late. I didn't start on a RP server. (Official or otherwise a totally trivial point but one person seems to thing that distinction is important) Exactly *Why* would I choose one now?

cause ppl have alot time to read to find new happenings :). i have nothing against rpers or non rpers, have friends of all kinds. wonder why tension so high to have a 27 page thread with alot of heat against this and that person or shell or anything for the matter. like many said, everyone have a choice to go to any other server they wishes to, what's the point of atatcking each other for many pages on the forum? so many genralisation and judgement against each other. whether one is rper or not, doesn;t make them any different. Some are nice people some are mean people, no matter if they rper or not.

all is seen each day is the same thing repeated endlessly when it can all be sum up to the same point. Some like Rp, some don;t like rp, some want move server, some want stay. thats it, its not going affect any1 because, everyone have a choice to move and gather to where they want to. complaining and fighting over fellow community members kinda pointless. Am sure there are nice fabul and besaid people, and when server merge they can get to play and know one another. wish u guys all the best. =p. for me i shifting server not cause of role play, but due to timezone/language limitation. hope those fighting over rp and none rp can just put the matter to rest already. getting ridiculous for sure.

Im sorry I loose credibility to you by admitting that I roleplay sometimes, but I am speaking as someone from Besaid, not as -just some person who role plays once every three weeks- I honestly admit that I do role play and point out where someone could avoid it, and how little of a factor it truly is in the server.

I also post for Fabul players who are concerned so that they may see that such a small numbered group isn't going to ruin the gameplay of the server they are being merged to. I have taken Fabul into consideration and posted to shine light on the fact that it isn't as big of a deal as the forums make it look to be, because it truly isn't. Fabul, Besaid is a large server that could use some more players since the numbers have dropped everywhere. People like it here, I have heard of maybe three people wanting to transfer.

The majority of my time is not in roleplay. If anything I devote like.. 1-2 days a month to it. If you take the 100(and many of these are alts to role players) or so people who roleplay like I and consider 80% of them to be just as casual as I am, how much do you really think you are going to see(assuming this really is a horrid thing for you at all.)

Once again I look forward to meeting you Fabul, please do not think harshly about your merge parner, we reallly are a great group of people looking forward to playing with you<3

I'm not inhibiting you in any form or fashion. You like it, I know.. it's great to get to pretend to be someone important when your a looser.. I get it.

You are free to have as much RP joy as your like, just leave me out of it ok. Your already getting the entire server of Fabul for your fancy fancy tea parties so your winning. (well maybe a quarter of it are like me and will make a swift exit..) Now if you please, just keep the labels to yourself.

i am from southeast asia, kinda jp timezone, but i don't speak jp. i think a bunch of us are trying gather together from various servers into one since we are not that huge of a number. gmt+8 zone here :). probably head to masamune from the oceanic thread started. since currently most of friends or events are heled in Eu and NA primetime, and its pretty late for the bunch of us in asia.

I wont call you anything dear, but it is rather rude to ask for a opinion and bash them for responding to you, even if it wasn't the answer you wanted. I Don't think of you as anything but a bit rude, if anything you are the one labeling. Maybe I just missed you getting called a anti rpist I don't know. but you seem awful defensive. Yes.. your honestly probably right about that last part.. as I'm taking most of the people I like from the server and a total of 4 shells with me. We are very much looking forward to our new home.
