Honestly the thing I did to get full credit on the FATEs was heal. Even if you apply regen on a non-party member you'll get aggro on the bombs. For the second one just heal the NPCs. I'm pointing that up because your info says you're a main WHM. Like really, all I did was heal the ranger NPCs and I got full credit on the FATE solely because of that. lol
I dont know if i just had hood timing or not but on Siren, the bomb quest, didn't seem to be an issue. People seemed to be partying and belping one another, and the bombs seemed to spawn regularly. But my timing might of been okay, but it was 11am-12pm-ish.
Solution: MORE BOMBS in more places BOMBS EVERYWHERE!!!
this issue reminds me of the old Sheep problem from 2.0 >______>
you think the dev team would have remember that disaster
First day, got curious so I decided why not and went out to try the event. The quests up until capturing the bomb were easy, that one was sort of chaotic for a little bit but after a few minutes everyone mostly spread out and went at the mobs as individuals or in twos at most. A little light coaching about not killing them and everyone had them and moved on to the fates. Then proceeded to spray their lizards all over eachother
(yes I did that intentionally no i am not ashamed, it was hilarious) everyone formed a ring around the boss and took out the mini-bombs. Easy win.
Maybe Lamia is just lucky, or else I was, but yeah. Easy amusing event, love my poses~ i hope everyone has good luck nya.
wonder what this "fix" is gonna be, if i had to guess they are just gonna ad 1 or a few more locations where the bombs can spawn.
First day was really bad but two days later I had no issue completting it twice!
Thank you for sharing. At least now I feel a little bit better about losing my soul grinding the Yokai event... Soemtimes it's good to be reminded that there are more ridiculous things going on.
Haha oops! I didn't even realize as I posted it on my phone and didn't give it much attention.
Let me retry *cough*
Meanwhile -still- in Ragnarok at the bomb quest

(yes there've been people LBing)
Cherub - you must be 'blessed' with some real ass-hats on that server.
On Phoenix server which is popular, I left it a couple of days before trying it and no problems. Players just doing the quest quickly and moving on.
What I do see is people picking up the quest that let's them ride that mount, then ignoring the quest and using the mount continually at the Fate. That's the kind of adaptation I like.
There is a Marina NPC very close to the fate, i missed it a few times, so had taken up the quest of the red ranger that you mount the beast and used that, lol
Know that i know though....
and it is correct you need to be on the mount for the fates, it's a 2 part fate
Regardless of proposed 'fix', I was readily able to accomplish this seasonal event on a high population server. You only need to perform the bomb capture once. I suspect that the area where the bombs live is fairly clear at this point, everyone having rushed to accomplish the event in the first few days. With at least 2 more weeks to do the quests, there's plenty of time and, as I saw last year, absolutely nobody performing the quests toward the end of the Faire.
Note: for best results you should perform each 'ranger task' once, then sit around the required FATEs until you end up with, oh, 27 tokens. That is enough for all three emotes and the rest of the armor set (which is dyeable, folks).
I tried this event out on Saturday, and am happy to report that on Gilgamesh, one of the most highly-populated servers, I had no problem at all completing the capture-the-bombs quest. No lines, no overcrowding, nothing. It seems that all the trouble was just in the first day or two.
Well, almost no trouble. As DRK, I had to put on Grit just to lower my damage to the point where I wasn't killing the things before I could capture them. There were enough bombs and few enough people though, that no one even gave me the stink-eye for "wasting" bombs in this way.
All this for fluff rewards. Were talking about emotes as a reward. I've heard stories of people spending hours of frustration on this event, for a frikin power ranger emote. My mind is just baffled. Maybe Im just that different, I dont know. I remember lines like this in FFXI, but in FFXI it was for the quest to unlock the fellowship system when it was first put in, allowing you to summon a companion, so the reward was something useful. Just come back later guys - its JUST an emote....and everyone will be spamming the same emotes. This doesnt even trigger the reward system in my brain.
I've honestly never had this problem in Hyperion. Despite the high amount of players that had been partaking in the event, had no issues claiming the bombs necessary for the event. I do feel as if the bomb count should be a bit higher though, given that it's an open map quest, and as I'm also well aware there are more constipated servers than Hyperion for something like this.
Because doing things on day 1 is a very special kind of community feeling.
The hype, the knowledge that 100% everyone around is new to this, the masses of excited people around you making it feel like a real, living event.
Day (or weekend if the event starts on a friday) 1 is a very unique exciting communal experience that can't be replicated any other way or time. And everyone deserves to enjoy that one-time experience without some callous douchebags purposefully trying to ruin it for them.
(Whatever fix they bring now is already too late to preserve that, but it can still protect individuals from being griefed by individuals and that is absolutely valuable.)
I just auto attack unlock and use the key item. :/
It pays to not be on an over-populated server I guess. I was able to carry through with the quest on Cactaur without trouble at all. Too bad there are jerks.
You can tell this event has slowed due to the falling price of the glamours. It was a good gil maker over the weekend for a few of us. Now what am I going to do with the extra 200 I have...
Amalj'aa Beast Tribe quest: you have to water the weakened Warriors - that was to kill them, then they can not be targeted and you have some seconds to use the item on them!
Why didnt they do it that way?
Just found out that each of the quests has new cutscenes for the second and third times you complete is, so looks like you need to do it some more! :P
This is really the only adjustment they had to make, and I don't know why they didn't think to do it that way in the first place considering they should have anticipated a bunch of level 60 dudes going out to try to capture some weak ass level 30 mobs >_>Quote:

Yes, you only have to do once if you want all the rewards, but for the people that want to see every possible dialogue/cutscene, they will have to do them twice.Quote:
Nope, you only need to do each of the repeatable quests 1 time.
Is this ever going to be fixed? Wasn't that supposed to be in the works? Someone is running around and griefing people trying to do the quest by killing every bomb that spawns on my server, so now everyone has to wait until they get bored because it's not a bannable offense. These events should really take this kind of abuse into consideration before they happen.
It's supposed to be a bannable offense to maliciously prevent others from advancing in the game. That's the reason the GMs gave when they started handing out bans for house selling and why you can get in trouble for trade request trolling. It may just be a case of GMs not keeping up with their duties. From the User Agreement, prohibited activities:
