Nice to have it back. You had us scared there for a second :P

Just wanted to chime in again that the EU isnt the only part of the world with EU accounts either. At least in Africa we use PAL version of games and thus fall in the same category and I'd imagine it would be the same in the Middle-East and previous soviet states. None of those regions are even mentioned by SE and yet we get the same version of the game as all other EU players.
I personally hope the other EU regions would have a promo with digital distributors like Steam, GOG or greenmangaming because there is no way in hell they can cover the rest of the world if they want to force us to buy and import physical goods.
It's insulting to be brutally honest and just shows that they never really gave a crap about how it would actually work when they announced it the first time.
Hi
for me this really Strange why we have to pay more than 30 Dollar and wait for 3 month while other get it in less than 1 week with less money
at least more time less money Or more money less time D:
let us at least pay for Digital Ver and we get the code after we download it
it's way less than the bother to fight to get it the magazin to my house i live out of Europ i never buy anything fro EU normally US
Just why make it really hard to get
Some people tend to take the "triggered" approach and have the need to add insults when their points are somewhat invalid and more so, tend to forget that despite JP, EU or NA servers aside, we are all a community. I'm sick and tired of seeing replies of the "Too bad, so sad" or "well crying about it isn't going to help you" variety from one group.
Keep in mind guys, we were ALL fussing about this before we even had a promotion. Since half of North America got the opportunity to score the Amazon promotion, the mindset now I am seeing is "Ha-Ha losers!"
We were ALL in the same boat. EU's still in that boat. We shouldn't be pointing, laughing and telling them to basically suck it up.
Square-Enix - throw them a frickin' bone here..
I'm happy the thread exists again, I'm hoping that we do at least reach people at SE about this issue. At least so that we don't get these kinds of promotion deals again. I'm happier with Cash Shop/Digital Codes. It is likely too late for them to redo any kind of deal with the magazine now, unless they pay out of their pocket for it.
Ty for deleting my post, I kept it civil for my standards, but spanish people like me have blood in our veins instead of soy milk, so sorry not sorry if making a point involves some energy.
So keeping it civil, my opinion on this "promotion" (I would call it april fools idea) is:
1. It comes late.
2. Badly implemented.
3. Not even for all EU regions.
4. Lacked all the required info (that a rep had to reply here because people complained).
5. More costly than other promotion campaigns.
6. Feels more like a robbery than a promotion.
7. We gota wait 3 months whereas other regions had the items almost immediatly.
Tbh I would prefer not getting anything that this "promotion" (I cant call it what I think it is, but everyone have the word in their minds).
And same concern I expressed on my deleted post, I do not understand how the chain of command in SE EU decided to give the ok to this promotion.
I just tried to create a thread asking why threads were being censored, and it was deleted immediately. I'm now inclined to believe that SE is working on the issue.
I'm not sure how exactly the JP promo went except that you had to buy stuff to get the points. So assuming a drink cost $1 (working $ since don't know yen) and you get 1 point for every drink you bought they be spending quite a bit more money then the EU promo if they wanted all the items. Now I'm not sure if this is exactly how it was but that what I'm getting from looking through the JP promo stuff.
we know the maid dress, butler attire and the white mount is high in demand.. but this promotion method is different from NA n JP which we dont have the choices to choose what we want to buy, instead only limited n force us to buy a mag..
it is same like taking advantage to us EU account holder players.. don you think so?@@..
instead of being thankfull that SE trys to bring over Promotion Items that were never planed to be released outside of japan people just complain about every single bit. (I'm from germany btw)
Europe isn't as united like the USA is and therefore it's way harder to get this done with all the different legal restrictiions and all the other stuff so yeah.
Please remember SE there are people that apreciate the effort.
With how shady that company is.. you sit here and tell us they wont use our info for anything.. with a straight face.. gj SE =)
Should've just put the items in the cash shop. And now they should definitely consider this. Continue to post your feed back
I'm not quite sure where my post was insulting for it to get removed, but never mind that now. I will put up my complaint and criticisms again.
I will not spend €35+ on things I have little care for. Just no. Not worth the price and shipping costs. Also the length we have to wait for a few glams and a mount are ludicrous.
I'm not a businesswoman, but greetings from Malta. Being in no country mentioned, that means I've no chance to get these promotional items because of course I am "not European", despite the fact my country is in the EU. Instead of focusing on smaller countries in the EU, why not target EU in general? There's a single market for a reason and not everyone lives in those countries mentioned.
Later addition: Or put everything on Mog Station. Please. Easier for everyone.
They just need to find a way to make the promos work for everyone. I just suggested that they should consider using 7-11 in the US and Canada in the Japanese promo thread and they removed it from the thread and it wasn't even the slightest but offensive or aggressive so yeah. I mean it's good they're trying to get the items out but we shouldn't have to jump through hoops.
To my knowledge the MogStation store is available to the ENTIRE Eu playerbase, there was nothing wrong with putting 20$ worth of promotion material into euro and other equivalent based on country. If that does not work there are many, MANY different mediums such as Steam, Amazon, G2A, etc etc etc, The whole reason people are outraged is because it both requires physical acquisition of a product over the timeframe of 3 months or more rather than the instantaneous acquisition of goods at the time of shipping either a digital or physical product. while yes I agree, it's hard to divvy up this promotion to the whole of Europe but they did say they were working on alternative methods for different countries.
Firstly, that doesnt even begin to include all the countries I've mentioned.
Secondly, do you honestly think that making someone from anywhere else in the world import a gaming magazine is at all practical to begin with? When other regions complain you jump on them and say to wait their turn when I mention that even then some regions still aren't covered you link me to a site that I've already read by now.
Atleast allow me to give them a possible alternative to this taped together mess of a promo before you hound me with random links that have nothing to do with what I said tyvm!
Seriously, SE, if you want to have any hope of actually having a global promo you need to start talking to digital distributors or, heck, allow us to get a digital version of the magazine if you're so hard pressed on it.
we forced them? I dont believe anyone here forced SE to do anything. Yoshi told us if we had desire please let us know there is a damand so we know. So we did.
This is the thing SE needs to take from this.. if you have a multi region game and only give 1 of 3 regions something be prepared & commited to give the other 2 the items as well. Especially when you asked us to "let us know". Other wise don't even start the promotions in the first place.
Ehhh >_>
I would have rather bought a musical instrument from amazon.co.uk than this deal to buy a bunch of magazines which probably aren't even delivered to Finland (not that I would read them anyway). I'm happy to spend money on things I support but a random magazine isn't one. Can we have the option to just give the money to SE and not include a mugshot? Or a UK Amazon deal similar to what the US got?
Just throwing my hat into the ring with everyone else, this whole promotion is so miss-managed its funny. Personally the last time I brought a gaming magazine was 10 years ago when I didn't have internet. So not only does UK/EU have to fork over more then what US and Japan regions had to, you have to wait 3 months for all the items and send them a picture of the magazines to unlock the mount. Whats stopping people from borrowing there friends magazines and saying its theres for the mount? Whats stopping people from just going into a store and jotting down all the codes from each magazine? Yaw-ho sucks be the guy who brought that one! What if they don't stock that magazines in any of the stores? Not only that at the end of it I'm stuck with 3 magazines I'm most likely never going to read from a shady magazine company that's been caught in a scandal before.
No thanks SE. Try again.
I honestly don't know what you are all talking about. I watched the Live Letter and it was said right then and there that events for the other regions would be held at a later date. No-one asked or coerced SE into bringing these events to other regions, people just came rushing to complain right off the bat without having all the information after seeing the slide that mentioned the initial 7/11 event was JP exclusive.
Pretty much this. Allowing people to digitally subscribe would help a lot, even if it's not what people want. It allows the company to do an early sub (possibly) for all 3 mags as well as keep on track of who buy the 3 mags so they can give out the mount without anyone having to send a picture. It would also get rid of the issue of availability since not even in the UK might it be available to us (not everywhere sells them) and since they don't produce as many magazines compared as the UK members and even some of the EU members overseas, it cuts off a lot of them.
This way just does not seem like a fair chance for everyone, not even those in the same country.
Well, this announcement is rather baffling imo. Isn't GamesMaster pretty much dying/dead at this point? I can only find one copy of this magazine whenever I go into my local newsagent. On a good day.
Frankly this is a poor decision, why couldn't we have had a promotion similar to the one in the US? Why wait three months for the full set and why package it in this particular magazine? Couldn't it have been a joint promotion with PC Gamer and the Playstation magazine? Aren't all three owned by Future? This is a disappointment. Can we get some official word on if we can get these promotion items in the MogStation in the future? 'Cause I'd rather not buy GamesMaster...
Honestly, if they do give in to peer pressure, the scenario I've envisioned is, SE pay the magazine company for their losses and make us pay for it in cash shop instead, then never do promotions again.
Or SE apologizes, goes through with this anyway then afterward does promotions in a way that is more intuitive of what the fans desire. The only way forward at this point is a compromise.
I'm trying to keep up with the thread, there are people here with allot of valid points but I'm also really sleepy, so this will likely be the last from me tonight. I'll see you all in the morning when hopefully this whole thing blows over.
They are offering it to you but you are not happy about it.
Honestly we got screwed in Canada as well having to pay $25 shipping on a $20 game that I have little interest in playing.
There are other promotions coming for EU so if you don't like this one just wait for another one.
Here are some suggestions since the 14 team seems to be incapable of thinking of them and it took me 5 minutes
1. Steam - Buy a selection of Final Fantasy games and then send a code.
2. Humble Bundle - Put the FFXIV codes as a $25 milestone, SE has used Humble Bundle before and the money HELPS PEOPLE.
3. Yetitee - You buy T-Shirts with FFXIV designs and get the code that way. They do post globally.
4. Mogstation - Yeah, when in doubt just gain all the profits through Mogstation. Buy something from Mogstation and get codes, or just buy the "bundles".
5. DIGITAL copy of this magazine - When in doubt, you can arrange for digital and then hand out codes.
If anything, they could've done the items on mogshop under a certain limit of time. Like, between 12 (today) and the end of july you can grab these items for a X amount of euros. That way it's still a promotion (since you have to be on time) and everyone has a chance to get their items from the mogshop (which is accessible to everyone).
Or maybe make us buy 30 or 40 euro of stuff on the mogshop (a bit high though) and then they give us the items. I probably spent a lot on fantasia and name changes so I'm sure that's not a huge thing.
I would ask what they were thinking, but I doubt anyone even was. It's like SE was so unwilling to spend any more time and effort to scour and continue negotiating with possible partners that they shook hands with the first person who came forward without stopping to ask: "hang on, is this a fair deal for our UK customers (and other non-UK players who are free to import magazines) who like their Japanese and American counterparts also diligently play our game, support us and pay sub money to us?"
It smacks of contempt. It's emblematic of their apathy for other territories. The whole thing has been ill-thought and rather insulting, because the promotional items campaign was destined to lead to inherent disparity between the regions in terms of availability. It's one of the very rare occasions where I wish they could have just thrown it into the MogStation.
Or even better, incorporate these items into the game proper as reward items, considering we already pay money anyway. Why not give non-JPN and non-US players an extra incentive to be in the Gold Saucer?
As a UK player, I am bitterly annoyed and probably more than I should be, but I know someone in Australia who will be waiting for goodness knows how long for their campaign (importing magazines from the UK? LOL!) and I know someone from Dubai who plays the game. I don't see the UAE on the list. She's more screwed over than I am. I feel for these guys too.
1 digital magazine with a code for all the items would have been fine if they wanted to stick purely with the magazine promotion. Its would have been instant and price-wise around the same JAP/US regions, there is no issue with finite amount of physical magazines and non-UK players don't have to pay a heavy fee just to import them. Still left with something that most aren't going to read but a huge step up from the current system they are trying to fail with.
