Good to know. I will give it another try after the patch.

Looking forward to it.
Had an odd one yesterday. Level 50/60 roulettes just didn't want to pop for me as a DPS, figured I'd try to run magis quest for the poetics/free twines to +1 the 50 WHM. Tank and healers were filling on the runs but DPS weren't filling at all for Ancients or Darkness...only Syrcus would pop.
Perhaps that direct queue priority is indeed the culprit? Too many of the needed roles for roulette queuing directly for runs and not getting into the roulette rotation properly?
Here's hoping tonight's patch brings things back into a better balance again.
Thanks for the update! I'll definitely give it a shot tomorrow.
Working as intended.

How about qued for void ark right now. And a couple of FC people decided to help fill out the short dps. Each one got into a different party and into a different instance. So while two of us waited 60+ right now they waited less then 2 mins. Nice to see it is filling out groups and not dropping us into dead lobbies.
Is it so hard to have a first come first serve fill system. That I don't know WORKS!
So, queued up for an expert roulette. Wait time:5 minutes. Time in queue:34:33 and counting. Is this working as intended or is there not that many people queueing for experts?
Still seems off. Last couple Tuesdays 15 min or less queue time, 30 min plus wait later in week for tanks on Behemoth. Now on a Tuesday morning 30 min plus queue time. :(
Last night, my queues were decent, but once US prime-time hit, the lag got pretty bad. Was going to blame it on my connection until I saw a lot of others say the same thing.
I mean, the lag wasn't unbearable in in most dungeons, but it was fairly severe once I tried doing a Diadem (Hard) with my FC.
The weirdest part was that everyone would freeze and suddenly warp around until my client caught up, while I would appear to be moving normally on most of their clients. If I didn't say anything, they probably wouldn't know I was lagging.
Did DF: Leveling today and it was nice and fast again.
Once more we'd like to thank everyone for their continued feedback regarding Duty Finder matching speeds. We've been reading comments from players pointing out there may be specific issues that haven't been addressed.
Using this information, and the player matching data itself, the development team investigated the issue. As a result, they were able to determine that there may be cases where the matching queue for the Duty Roulette halts under specific conditions.
The conditions are as follows:
When a pre-made party queues for a Duty Roulette, and their party consists of three or fewer members, there is a possibility where that group will be matched with another pre-made group that also consists of three or fewer members under certain conditions. This in turn causes an unusual party setup to be made which results in all queues behind this halting.Once the above issue occurs, all queues created after this, whether they be solo or in a pre-formed party, will be matched into a queue that is suspended which results in these long queue times.
The queue that was suspended will resume under certain conditions; however, it can take a long time until this happens, causing congestion in Duty Roulette matching. Additionally, this situation has a high possibility of occurring during peak hours. Because of this, individuals may think that the queue speed fluctuates depending on the time of day that they're queueing.
This issue only occurs when queueing for Duty Roulettes, and doesn't affect the Duty Finder's normal matching system.
We were able to address this issue on our end, and we're currently working to implement a hotfix by the end of the week. However, we must make sure that it's properly tested, therefore we would like some additional time to do checks. We apologize for the inconvenience this and other related issues have been causing players.
Additionally, we have received feedback from players requesting that we revert the Duty Roulette matching system to a pre-Patch 3.1 setup. However, the individual content matching that content in Patch 3.1 utilizes was built on top of the new matching system. Therefore, reverting the system will greatly affect these, as well as require even more time for investigation. So we're carefully addressing the issue and putting our efforts into optimizing the current system.
The previous algorithm used a system where it first selected content and then looked for participants, whereas the new algorithm will first form a party as quickly as possible and then select the content. This new system was developed to provide a much quicker matching experience for everyone.
We are aware that there have been issues, especially inconveniencing those trying to utilize the Duty Roulette; however, based on data we've been investigating, we can confirm the matching speed outside of the Duty Roulette is faster than that before Patch 3.1.
Once more, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, and would appreciate your understanding as we work to address this issue.
Well tell duty finder to quit giving me wanderer's palace every time for goodness sake, tell DF to pick other content for 50 roulette
Aneas
Me and a friend have been waiting for expert for 30 min as DPS. Never waited this long before.
This is the kind of frankness and information you can respect. Even if this does not mean stuff is fixed. Players should have a better understanding of this system then has been provided in the past. Hopefully this is a sign of the way community management is going.
FINALLY got an explanation as to why it hit some people and not others. Thank you so much Zhexos.
So, for expert roulette, duty finder queues are supposed to take 5min+ and aren't supposed to be near instantaneous anymore right? Even in prime time etc?
Or is this also affected by the issue mentioned above, as I queue for roulettes solo.
Thanks for the fill in, Zhexos. Really appreciate it. :)
There was nothing wrong with the 2.0 matching system just revert it to that. If it isn't broke then don't fix it.
And more on the issue...
...but yeah, I do wonder what they did to it (and why they had to) that made it so messy and chaotic. :/Quote:
We would like to provide an update regarding the issue of extremely slow matching speeds when queuing for the the Duty Roulette.
During yesterday's internal investigation, we were able to determine that there are cases in which the matching queue for the Duty Roulette halts under specific conditions. We were able to address the cause of the issue, and after a large-scale inspection, verified that the system is working properly.
However, during the pattern verification that continued afterwards, we also confirmed that another issue - with a different cause - began occurring in the closed test environment after the fix (under certain conditions, match times become increasingly slower over time for solo players queued in the Duty Finder).
We are continuing to investigate, address, and verify the issue is fixed, but in order to make certain that the issue is thoroughly addressed, we may require until the beginning of next week.
We will post further details on the forums at a later time.
Since this issue affecting Duty Roulettes in the current open Worlds occurs when a pre-formed party queues for the Duty Roulette, we ask that you please queue in as a solo player or in a 4-player (8-player) party during this weekend, especially at peak times. This will keep the Duty Finder Roulette running smoothly, without congestion.
We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience and understanding.
So... They ask people not to do it?....
It's hilarious XD.
I'm sure that right now there is people doing it just because of that announcement XD
Greetings,
I would l like to provide an update regarding the issue with the matchmaking system when queuing for the Duty Roulette.
The development team has implemented a fix for the above issue in their test environment, and the QA team has confirmed that the Duty Finder now functions properly after a large-scale QA test; however, through a continued large-scale test with different patterns, the QA team has confirmed a separate issue where the matching speed becomes slow as time goes on if a solo player queues for Duty Finder under certain conditions.
Both the development and QA teams are working at full speed to determine the cause of this issue and have it addressed. Additionally, they are performing a thorough investigation and tests to ensure that there are no other hidden factors causing this issue.
As of now, no other issues have been found, but to make sure that the same mistake is not repeated again, we would like to spend more time investigating and testing.
Originally we had planned on applying a hotfix and performing maintenance over the weekend in order to address this issue; however, considering the risk where the maintenance time could be extended or trigger an alternate issue causing interrupted game play for a long period during the weekend, we decided to postpone the hotfix and instead use the weekend to conduct further investigations and testing to ensure we can deliver this optimized system in a stable state.
While playing the game this weekend, we would like you to keep in mind that the Duty Roulette issue occurs when queuing for four-player content with the following conditions:During the weekend, especially during peak times, we recommend queuing up to the Duty Finder either solo or in a pre-made party of four (or a pre-made party of eight for eight-player content). This will help to prevent the congestion of the Duty Roulette, and you will be able to match smoothly with others.
- Pre-made party of 2 + Solo Player + Solo Player
- Pre-made party of 3 + Solo Player
(The above has been mentioned in the News section of the Lodestone as well as the in-game login message.)
We sincerely apologize for the issues that have been occurring since the release of Patch 3.1 and the postponement of the hotfix before the weekend. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
At least you're being thorough. Let's see, how does that little song go..?

Anyways, thanks for keeping us informed.
Thanks for keeping us informed ^_^
That's the kind of info I love to see. Keep it up guys.
Thanks for the update
Does the dutyfinder switch you between things you have qued for randomly till one fills? Ive noticed sometimes id be qued for a titan extreme for example just waiting on one more member then it would start switching through the other things ive qued for, eventually going back to titan extreme now waiting on a bunch of members.
Im not sure the random switching function is helpful. Ive waited 30+ minutes before when queing for multiple extremes but i know if i had stayed in one that just needed one more to fill id have gotten in one faster.
When i que for multiple things. Id rather be placed in the que that is closest to filling on any of the things selected and stay there, unless one of the other ones becomes closer to filling and stay in that one instead of switching randomly... i hope this makes sense...
Queing for Frontlines: Siege as an 8 man party yielded us a 30+ minute wait before we disbanded while all of us queing individually gave us a game in minutes. This didn't happen before the patch. Please fix. <_<
From personal experience, the roulettes I've been having issues with, normal dungeons have no issues for tanks/healers I queue on+ frontlines has no issues. DPS seems to suffer from people withdrawing, etc due to long time periods of waiting and higher chance of occurrence I imagine :(
If you queue for multiple contents at the same time (no roulette) it should put you in the queues of those contents. It should only switch between the status displays of the different queues (because only 1 queue can be displayed at the same time) and you get the content that fill up first.
I know it only ques for one at a time, my issue is that it cycles through all the things i que for seemingly at random instead of just keeping me in a que that is only waiting on one more member. If it ramdomly cycles to a different que, you could potentially lose out on a que that filled. This can keep happening if unlucky enough causing 30+ minute waits. It would be more efficient if it simply stopped cycling through all the stuff you qued for and just keeps you in the one that is closest to filling at all times.
It doesnt seem to only display one, if it does thats strange because i can recall many times when cycling that the displayed members for something had seemingly started over. This happens more so on dps.
If it really is qued for them all and only displays one, i must be paranoid.
Hopefully this gets fixed soon. It's kinda terrible. ><
Greetings,
First, I would like to thank you all for your cooperation this past weekend by queueing solo or as an entirely pre-made party in the Duty Finder, and once again apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused.
The development, operations, and QA teams have conducted their investigation and were able to address the following issues for the Duty Roulette using the Duty Finder:The internal fix for above two issues was completed last Friday evening. We were able to verify the system working correctly upon observing the matching patterns of around 100 players. During this time we ran several programs to repeat the matching process and completed the internal verification process. We confirmed that matching was smoothly taking place, therefore we have implemented a hotfix last night.
- An issue when queueing for Duty Roulette with 3 or fewer members would halt the queue under certain conditions.
- An issue where the matching speed would slow down under certain conditions.
With this hotfix, the long queue times during peak hours should be relieved and should work according to the new matching system. However, please note that since there are tens of thousands of queues occurring each hour on the live servers, an unforeseen issue may arise on the live data centers. We'll continue monitoring in real time, and if any issues arise, we'll be sure to follow-up with everyone.
Also, please keep in mind that the queue times may be affected by the following factors:These factors, however, are a part of regular game play behavior, so please keep this in mind. If you are still experiencing longer than usual queue times after this hotfix, please be sure to leave feedback so we can relay the information over to the dev. team for further investigation. Thank you.
