I'm a sucker for bangs too, but instead of the ringlet one there on the left, I would go with the one below it. It looks super cute but personally I just want a hairstyle that flatters a female Au Ra's horns or looks nice but not trolled by SE by adding extra horns or something like they did with some of the hairstyles.

Some of these are leaps and bounds better than the chosen finalists! Maybe SE will notice some and put them in their thought bank for future implementation. I don't think anyone would be disappointed if their style were chosen outside the contest.

Meanwhile, I'll just be over here being bitter that I probably won't get to have any of these amazing styles. >.<

Wow! Bless those artistic hands, I enjoyed every page of this thread, you all are beautiful.. With all those ideas of semi-original and fully original SE can at least implant a hairstyle or two for males and females in each patch.

It such a shame that some did not be taken, there are many hairstyles on this list which are more original and more beautiful from which SE hand picked for the final. I am sighing as I watch a design after the other and don't believe it wasn't choosen to be in the finale.

It was a stolen image, just recolored. The big problem is, it was a very common image and people are suspecting bias as to why it was even allowed.

I tried with many other people to get drill style hair in....but I guess the dev's are anti drill.

There's so many cool hairstyles here! Much better than the Serah copy and the Quistis copy that are the finalists >:(

I am so sad this one didn't make it, I would like a hair style like this, I am kinda tired of all the cute hairstyles.

I get the feeling SE doesn't like when the face is partially hidden, it will look weird with most face equip, and people would probably complain about the clipping ad glasses poking out etc....

:P it is so easy to uncheck the display headgear tho

Thanks you two! I'm glad you enjoyed it QUQ <3 And I feel you, Miss BrunHilda, that's one of the reasons I tried for this style was the lack of curls and such. A lot of the roe ladies have some cute wavy hairstyles that you don't see much of (due to fem!Roes being such a low population sadly) so it would be nice to see such things offered for all races!

Can't wait to see what else lands in this thread!

It was a great exercise to test out some hair ideas, and I certainly wish there were more hairstyles based off of the events and the circumstances surrounding the characters in the world of the story. Here's an unkempt fop's do I did (in Haurchefant's hue) for all those nobles cast down into the ranks of knights and common adventurers.

Since there are so many blunt, brow-level bangs that hide a character's eyebrows and forehead, I tried going for side-swept bangs on a whispy + elegant long style.

As for the hidden face part, I figured it wouldn't be too drastic since one of the female Au'Ra hairstyles covers much more than that. However, I do see your point. ^^

I have the feeling some of you got disqualified because of the rules, like the hair is too long or that you posted your picture on social media. D:

I'm sitting here and wondering who picked out those 25, because some of these are far superior. I know, I know, it's all subjective, but some of these actually show them drawn on all player races, and not cutesy anime characters. We can get a good idea of how they'll look, rather than quite a bit of the current participants... :(

I'm hoping something like clipping issues were the reason some of them werent picked. A lot of really good ones here, but a fair number are quite bulky or long. I notice they didnt select any drill curls either, those would clip a lot.

Anything that isn't hair straight down the back would clip, not to an extreme extent, but it would with a fair amount of sets. Especially the side ponytails, seems like they'd clip with anything with a collar really, but it wouldn't be super visible from the back.

I feel like some of the hairstyles in the context don't "deserve" to be in it ? Like the photographies, I know not everyone can draw (My drawing sucks for exemple) but at least I would have tried and it's not "that hard", looking at some other entries you can see people did put the effort to draw them.
