Yep, it's cause the login servers are being hammered by hundreds of thousands of people at 1 time. Essentially we're ddosing ourselves. I'm in the same boat. In queue, stuck at 265 for about 10 minutes now.

I was playing just fine all day today. So was my fiancé. She got 9002'd. bout 10 minutes later i got 9002'd. We were not AFK and were playing and active the whole time. Now it's 2002 trying to get in all day all time.

I just keep getting lobby errors. :< I haven't been able to log in at all since EA was released. u___u

this is the second time I changed data center. I am able to get on the servers of those data centers, but when I switch back to get into balmug, I get the error >>

I can't even get to the character select screen. Can't even connect to the data center--period.

Same. I waited for an hr to see if anything has cleared up and nothing. 10 tries so far since then and I still cant connect to the data center. ><

I was very patient about this before, but after all the time that's passed, my patience is beginning to wane (I'm getting really sick of entering my information into the launcher repeatedly). This would be easier to bear if SE would at least acknowledge the issue or something.

Aether datacenter, Siren server reporting in.

Was on just fine, logged off to go eat dinner and watch Chopped on the DVR, came back and "LOL 2002 ERROR"

So I bought this game on Monday and got home from work and installed it, after a 6GB patch/download time for bed for work.

I come home Tuesday and play it for 2hours and go to bed.

Wednesday I come home no time to play, Thursday servers down for 24hrs.

Now we come to Friday, I come home and play for 2hrs approx. and then leave, come home and I cannot log in been trying since after 7:30pm.

5006 error then repeat 2002 and the typing in my login credentials every time just to fail is REALLY frustrating.

I've shut the power off to my ps4, unplugged the Ethernet cable hard reset my modem and router turned ps4 back on, switched data centers and back (AETHER is where I play) and still same issue.

What the !@#!&@*(#!)@(*&#!@ is going on and REALLY need this issue addressed.

Being invested less than a week in this game and having already bought the game and pre-ordered the expansion pack I expect some sort of compensation for going on 2 days of being unable to play.

Seems to me this week was a very poor time to start this game.

I'm playing on ps4 through Comcast in west Virginia.

Yup. Kicked out the one time I finally got in after all the 2002 and 5006 and 90k Malarkey. Now it's been 3 hrs and I still can't get past the server lobby error.

Unable to connect to Aether datacenter.

Did a tracert a few times from my IP to the US datacenter, and it looks like the packets are getting hung up in the Level3 center in Montreal (surprise!) with anywhere from 300- to 1500- ms. latency.

It's been almost two years, and yet Square still cannot fix this issue.

Yeah. Playing at launch with this much hype was a bad idea because everyone and their entire family and that family's family is trying to get in all at once. But really SE should have expected this and have taken better pre-caution with the initial log on's. Unless they didn't think this many pre-orders would sell, which would be pretty stupid considering all the hype it's been getting since it's announcement.

We should do everyone a favor and....I don't know, do something to that Level3 center. Completely worthless. It seems every time they get the bit of stress, they start to block anyone trying to connect to a server past them. Or however that works.

the silence from Squeenix isn't much of a surprise to me.

Can't log in at all. I shouldn't have payed my sub until I knew the game was playable. I hope they give as an extra day or two of sub time to make up for it but I'm not holding my breath...

They are most likely working on the problem ... Lot of the west coast got out of work. If u keep trying I'll get past the lobby- I just did

seriously. If a Japanese datacenter were having the same problems Aether is, they'd have techs on it within minutes, and NUMEROUS reports of "we're working on it"

im in midsgardmor and i cant connect at all keep getting lobby server error

For God's sake I can connect to every single data center except Aether, which naturally, is where my level 50s are... :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I'm on coerul and I just keep getting a 2002 error I can't even change datacenters without it giving me that error code

oh well, looks like its back to playing FFV on my GBA while waiting for Squeenix to do 3D remakes of it and FFVI

Seems as though all NA datacenters are toast right now. I can connect to the JP datacenter just fine, but if I try any NA datacenter, 2002 error! I was on earlier today for hours. Only reason I logged off earlier was because the PS4 controller was running super low on juice. Shouldn't have logged off. >.<!

It's like a bad rerun of the fiasco of the 2013 launch of FFXIV:ARR :mad::mad::mad:
I never got to play a minute of that EA either.

Four hours in a help que for the chat support, all they had to say was it's congestion and to keep trying. Just a heads up in that direction.

Unable to connect to aether I switched to primal to see if it helped and I was able to connect fine but all my character I play are on Balmung

I can't imagine next week is going to be any better when the game officially launches

Imagine this but more of us.

It's been two months since the game runs like an old lady suffering from cancer and now it's impossible to connect. Good job.

I hope before the launch squeenix uses some techno magic and makes super servers or whatever they need to do to make this game stable. I can't even trust to start the new MSQ in fear of a DC and losing information or cut scenes

this sucks.

I wonder if they're going to give out free game time again after this fiasco runs it's course

Was able to log onto an alt on famfrit after a short queue switched back to Balmung and was again returned to an infinite queue when I was able to connect to the lobby

I cant even find my world...Leviathan all i am offered is Coerl that i havent played on in almost two years.

change ur DNS to googles this solved the problem for me. 100% have yet to get the error and have relogged a few times since i made the change. =) hope it helps u guys

Same, I understand launch problems always happen but why they felt the need for it to kick you off the game and force you to re-login, I don't know.

Been locked out for a day. Can't get online today either.
I remember when ARR came out the errors had me locked out for 2 weeks.
I really hope this isn't more of the same.

Same here can't log in, just get kicked out immediatly after the whole launcher freezed!
Yesterday it works fine! =/
