I know plenty of guys that have girlfrinds and still play as females. I also know plenty of guys currently free that play males. So having (or not) a girlfriend is by no means indicator of who plays females.

Since you're obviously comfortable with immflamatory comments, here's one: grouping all people, from diffrent cultures and nations into one sack is very close minded, to not say small minded.

While there may be the small group that still will play females, i have to say even a bigger group plays females, and ever since you have a GF still doesn't mean your not horny and like to look at a female toon, be honest with me, i doubt anyones GF who plays this game looks like the girls in this game...my point still remains good sir = )

Like really, it's kinda weird to do that, and even if the person you hit on does look like their character exactly, they're still just gonna shoot you down because it's not exactly teh james bond smoothness. lol

Personally I don't partake in playing female characters but it's far from "Creepy" if thats really what puts you on edge perhaps you need to step out of the MMO world and back into the real world where more people tend to agree with your bigotry. So let me get this straight, you cannot conceive of playing a female character without there being some underlying sexual subtext to it?

I think someone is projecting their own thoughts/fantasies a little.

Ok, so something constructive, something constructive...

Nope, nothing comes to mind. I guess it's just silly topic. Most topics about human nature are.

When my wife and I play video games she almost always plays the warrior or dwarf with a sword, while I play the female mage or some such. It's just play style. Why are people so judgemental? Why do people feel the need to type cast everyone? Why are you trying to draw little lines and boxes around people saying, "you play different then me, therefore you are bad and I shall judge you and hurl insults". Get over yourself. It's a character...in a game...

I always find these topics a great insight to how a small number of people think.
How they see others reasons for creating a character probably says more about them self then the people they are talking about.

But to keep on topic.
I'm much happier with the idea these people label me with (at least with this character) then the idea that i like looking at guys rear end and wanting to get some off them.
Which by their own reasoning is what they are doing, along with representing them self as probably a much better looking guy then they actually are.

I personally dont understand why people needs to know whos behind the keyboard/controller of the character ingame. I am a male and I play both female and male chars in RPGs. In WOW i played Worgen Male cause they looked badass, while I played a female draenei priest cause I simply felt a female looked better in clothrobes and had better animations at casting heals.

When I meet other players in FFXIV, I really couldnt care less what gender the person behind the character is. If people are fun to play with, isnt that what should matter?

Rinoa, I have just gotten used to it after all these years playing RPG and online games. I am always honest, and when i did get a few idiots trying to hit on my female draenei priest in WOW a few years back, i just said. Before you continue ur little courtship dance, I am a male. Then he/she/it logged off, Prolly to take a long shower haha.

I am just out to play online RPG for fun only, make friends who shares the same interests in games. Not relationships. I have made a few really good mates with people from England, Denmark and Germany. Ive met them in real life as well after playing with em for 3 years and getting to know em on Ventrilo etc.

But as with the real world, we do get the same people online as well. Some nice and ofc some out just to cause nuisance.

PS: As for new tires Rinoa. Buying em from Norway is prolly gonna be the most expensive set of tires you ever purchased. I personally prefer Yokohama S-Drives on my car.

A lot of people look for companionship online and it results and can come out in real life. An example lets pick Japanese players, both boy and girl. They get close and want to meet each other in real life; will it kill you if you knew of this? NO!!!!

Asians like meeting online, so it must be the same concept in other Asian countries, You guys keep forgetting not every girl character is a boy and not every other is a girl.

If you get tricked suckered and get pissed over a girl char (male or female, especially if they steal something from you) online in a mmorpg... then that is your fault.

I rolled a Miqote because I was a white-haired Mithra in XI; my friends and I all remade our XI characters as best we could when we came to XIV waaaaaay back in alpha.

I'm seriously considering changing my race to a female Roegadyn when they add them. I'm kinda sick of the stigma associated with the hordes of cat-girls online... but then I'd be the only one who isn't a remake of their XI character. :( Plus, I'm really used to my Miqote.

Well, seeing as how we humans do not have tails, cat ears or catlike facial features, I'd have to say that assumption is correct.

They should just make Gath a race, though, it would be too overpowered that there would be nothing in this game to compete. Also, EVERYBODY who rolls a Gath race get instantly hit on exactly every 1.69 exactly on the dot with some sort of vulgarity that makes little orphan children cry.
