I'd love this. I support it fully
I have no idea if its against the TOS or how it works, but assuming PC owners could capture or convert their player or game models (or make their own). Couldn't they just have it printed either by themselves or by someone with a 3d printer? It sounds like a good idea since the time investment put into it. Wouldn't people have to give someone full access to their account to have their character printed out? Let alone having it dressed up right and not made in default race attire. On the up side modelers could correctly paint their avatars in the right or custom colors or CG folks could make them look more like the concept sketches or "other" than in game generic (like some folks do with Skyrim) before printing it.
Possible, but really complicated, compared to something like a thing in the mog station where you just choose you character and it's displayed and printed in the same outfit it's wearing in the lodestone and you pick a pose among some emotes.. If you want something super duper fancy with lots of destails added you can always ask an artist of course.

take my money
The necromancers strike again
I've had artists draw my characters on paper but a figure would be cool.
If you truly want my money square, forget Carby sandals...you know what to do.
I have a space on my figure shelf waiting
I'd probably break down and purchase something like this as well...
I would agree to this but before they can pull off something like this
They gotta learn to deal with the really bad clipping on character models.
I'd do this, but only if it shipped VERY well packed.
I need to find my best glamour set for this~
Joins this thread to agree that this is a cool idea.

THIS IS SERIOUSLY THE BEST IDEA AND SE WOULD MAKE SO MUCH MORE MONEY OFF OF IT THAN $150+ PRIMAL FIGURES.
Please. P l e a s e. Give. QQ
I have always liked this idea. SE should look into it at least.
Bumped for SE Suggestion!

Re-bumping for SE suggestion...
(necro confirmed)
I'd like 1/4 scale figures of my characters but it must be really difficult to create individual statues unless they were 3D printed but the biggest problem remains which is painting the figures, I don't think SE wants to mess around with that!...
One solution would be to give us a fixed set of positions and costumes to choose from but players might not want to be restricted, anyway, if this becomes a thing in the future I'll be sure to check if it's worth getting them!...
Or an easier way is to request the STL file of the character in a certain pose (or let the game generate it from gpose or -cough- modders know something -cough-) and you can easily get it printed from any 3d printing companies that offer colored 3d printing services. Would be a lot cheaper than having SE invest in 3d printers that produce high quality colored parts.
they could even team up with that clone doll place in japan to put your real face on your character :P

Is WOW still doing the action figure on their end? This seems like a good idea but with the current world situation, I think this will be on hold even if SE decides to do it.

I'd love to get STL files of my characters so I can print and paint them. Two characters with 15 glamour plates per character...
Even at $5 per file for each individual plate, that's still cheaper than my Warhammer 40K hobby.
I want a 3-D model of Thancred holding my WoL
I should expect that even with 3-D printing as it is today, it would be HUGELY expensive for custom made characters to be produced. Think of the differences in character design, the differences in clothing and equipment. That means every single sculpt would be entirely unique. No way to reduce costs through mass production. Each sculpt would be incredibly expensive even if it wasn't colored. If it was given accurate colors, the price would go through the roof. Would any of you be willing to pay 1000 dollars for such a sculpt?
