Auto-logout exploit?

For the last 2 nights of gathering I've been setting auto synth before I go to bed. I'd say I felt bad since apparently I'm greatly effecting the people that happen too walk by ... but I'd be lying. Sorry, I enjoy this 'feature'.

It's not intentional.... It's because of quicksynth.

Quicksynthesis is designed to que up large numbers of some mundane item you need to make other things and go afk. I mean I for one am not going to sit by my PC and watch my tune mindless make 99 bronze ingots. I quicksynth them up and once it starts I go afk, watch some t.v., etc and come back later.

These people are going afk for the quicksynth to finish and coming back hours later. It's not really there fault their not being kicked. We are not exploiting it, we are crafting, it finishes, and then are tunes sit there afk not getting kicked.

Yes, because it's easier to blame other people, instead of blaming your own computer. I have no lag in towns, so don't blame players for what is obviously on your side.

eI really don't get the point of staying logged afk in for extended period of time.

It's a waste of server resource, a waste of energy consumption for both square enix and yourself, and extended strain on your video card or console.

Does it effect me? No but it does effect the earth and it's environment..

LIke I said... not trying to stay logged in, just going afk during quicksynth and somethign coming up and not returning immediately. Take last night for example, I was going to bed but wanted to quicksynth, so I fired one up and turned off my monitors and went to sleep, expecting to be logged out in the morning, but no.

If SE doesn't want us going afk, then they need to not add something to the game that encourages going AFK, which is what quick synthesis does.

Plus they need to know if their FC is talking about them while they sleep.

No one sleeps tonight. The paranoia has set in. I for one absolutely wake up
sweating bullets and run to my PC to see what they are talking about.

I also rage at the 20~ seconds it takes to log back in, eff that noise, bro!
NUMPAD 0 is too hard for me. I absolutely HATE having to log in, but hey,
I'll use the "You guys can log in easier now so just do it" argument and
contradict myself all day. Cuz I sure as hell am all about logging in fast
but I will never participate.

Fix it and kick them out, KICK THEM ALL OUT! MWUAHAHAHAHA!

or time to hope this thread gets buried before anyone at SE notices, since the auto-logout shouldn't exist to begin with.

There's no point in fixing it, because even if they did, you could still defeat the system with a keyboard macro.

I've got something of a tangential question to this, which is that my computer, when running this game, makes my room hotter than the Sun. How can people stand to have that much heat generated when they're not even playing?

Some people actually decided to use an actual computer, and not a radiator to play the game on. Just because you have a crappy cooling system, doesn't mean others have.

BTW, What is with the need of all you afk-timer supporters to know what/why/how others use their game?
