Pretty thankful for this post as well. Couldn't really understand this class for beans but wanted to play a healer to see the other side of the wall, so to speak, when I'm not tanking.
Made me much more reliable and confident about my skills. The mp gain from aetherflow gave me a lot to think about in terms of how I approach healing vs applying dots. I probably use stoneskin more than necessary, buy it usually gives a lot of wiggle room so I can apply dots, blind, etc, while letting my faerie throw up embrace her and there. Plus it lets me be super mobile.
Great thread!

I have a couple of questions for people that have leveled SCH already. I just unlocked it last night and I've done a total of 3 Haukke Manors so far since I unlocked it.
1.) Is it possible to toggle the AI on the fairies on/off without having to target a mob? I prefer micro-managing my fairies spells over the AI as I am somewhat anal about wanting to know exactly when and where my heals are hitting. But every time I want to turn Obey on I get "Invalid Target" message unless I am targeting a mob.
2.) This is kind of weird. And always tends to happen in the same place. In Haukke Manor at the bend right before the first boss, Eos will disappear for a few seconds while than come back while I'm healing the PT in the first room. The first time nothing came of it. The second time she came back with a maidservant and consequently died, and the third time she came back with the first boss.... we were fighting in the room and all of a sudden got the 15 second warning.

No one died during any of these incidences, but it irks me a bit that she's going off on her own and pulling stuff. Is this a glitch because I prefer to have her under Obey full-time?

I think there's certain places where she will go nuts and go off to aggro things. I've heard she does the same with some primal battles, starting them before everyone's ready. If you know exactly where it happens, dismiss her just before that point and swiftcast+resummon her when you're past it or in position.
And yeah, ever since 2.1(?) we've had to target a mob to get her to obey. Don't know why, seems kinda pointless for a healer to be forced to target a mob first thing and not the tank, but meh, maybe they're trying to encourage us to apply DoT's at the start or something *shrug*

I know pets leeroy in Haukke normal dungeon before the first boss and in Coil turn 1. Best remedy there is to just manually place the pet ahead of you instead of having them following. I usually stoneskin my fairy before Coil 1 boss so I'm too lazy to resummon her. I just keep replacing her as far ahead of me as I can, run to her, again ahead of me etc. until I'm at my starting position.

Just keep the follow command in your bar and press it once she runs away from you.

Hey folks, I've done some updates on the guide (finally).
Just keep in mind for me life's been pretty busy since 2.1 came out so to be honest, I still haven't finished all the new content (namely extreme primals)
As usual, if you have anything to add, please feel free to share

Thank you so much for this! I just became a scholar and someone told me about combos and how much different healing was between a white mage and scholar but never explained it to me. after playing a lvl 50 BLM for forever its still hard not wanting to dps down a enemy lol

Alright, obviously a lot of people don't really know how Fey Glow/Light actually work. They do NOT increase your actual casting or "skill use" speed by 30%, they increase your spell speed/skill speed STAT by 30%. This makes them extremely, extremely weak. Even if we assume someone has a lot of those stats on their gear (which they should replace as soon as possible since the stats have very low returns), the buffs will only give minimal improvements.
Spell Speed and Skill Speed are extremely weak stats, every 10/11 points reduces cast times and recast timers(not for abilities with set times like Lustrate) by 0.01! Only 0.01!! It takes a full 100 points of these stats to get just 0.1 seconds taken off the cast and recast times of spells/skills. Variances in human player actions will eliminate whatever small gains that might give.
