This Bard stacking thing needs to be dealt with

2/8 isnt stacking for dps i would consider 4/8 stacking as all the dd are stacked as bard...... 2 bards bring a shit load of utility to the party that no other class can.....

The OPs point is pointless. Untill SE makes a fight where melee dd's aren't punished so hard for standing near mobs in Coil ranged dd will all be better. And again using 2 of the same jobs isnt stacking....

Ultimately, i agree that 2/8 doesnt sound like its stacking, however, i also can understand from the OP's point of view, considering that in reality you only have 4 slots for dps, which pretty much means 2/4 are bards, that is 50% of your dps.

considering binding coil of bahamut is only an 8-man dungeon, its really hard to draw the line for stacking as just bringing in 2 of a certain class can change the numbers drastically (e.g. 2 paladin tanks turning into an "OMG the world first group used paladins for ALL their tanks, warriors are useless!!!" situation where that may not actually be the case).

P.S: the 1000 character limit needs to be higher =/ its extremely annoying

I really don't see any purpose to multiple BRD's outside of it being an easy class to do a lot of damage on without being very good at the game.

Both DRG and MNK do more damage.

Parsers are still not correctly parsing SMN, and any BRD beating the other classes on anything means the people playing the other classes suck.

Not everyone but I do see the difference if their gear and skill rotation are good. Although i have to agree that MNK is a hard class to master for some people :(
Their damage is just so not visible that no one really needs them in the endgame if they aren't really good to deal with them.
Oh and yes SMN is for sure weaker then BRD. But there is still something good about SMN :)
They have an instant "Resurrection" through cross-classing "Swiftcast" ^_^
So they can raise a healer if he died in a situation.
That's pretty useful.

You're right they do have the highest sustain damage, but with DPS checks like titans heart, and most fights in coil which get really rough if you drag it out, it isn't really optimal mainly since burst damage is better in fights like that, and fester isn't really good enough to make up the difference.

@Ixsiehn it's a figure of speech, if someone says that something is "Too good" It gives the negative connotation that it is general bad, or noob , or whatever, and I agree, having 4 bards in a party is dumb, which is why I said like 4 posts ago that if you consider 2/8 class stacking you're being kind of silly, that's the point I'm defending, that's it. Btw, the OP was considering 2/8 class stacking, sooooooo, no misconceptions there, just baddies being baddies.

I'll also back up what Ark said, Melee DD are extremely punished in coil, it's insane, I have a lot of respect for people who can Dodge everything in that fight, easily the hardest role to play as of now in coil is a melee DD, I switched from DRG to BRD on Coil because my dodging was slowing us down and we needed a second bard for rotation. And in turn 4 some mobs can only be killed with magic, so I would venture to say that SMN potentially has some use there, but Idk, relic or bust really, the dot damage needs to be high for it to be worth it. After so many runs of carrying summoners it just gets troublesome to bring them to raids until their damage output is better. Could be the player, but not every player should have lower damage than the tank lol..

Summoner dots take 2 GCDs to setup, Bio2, Miasma2+bio at the end into a fester basically makes up for their initial 5 second "no damage".

So essentially, for anything lasting more than 10 seconds their "burst" is fine, esp if they save aetherflow and do a fester -> laser (i forgot the name T.T) -> laser -> fester rotation, more festers, less lasers if the thing will last longer.

The parser approximates by guessing based on stats how much damage your dots are doing.

Also since all dots tick at once and all their numbers go into one number, it dumps all of that into "bio" or whatever, so that all your dot damage is being registered as one attack.

Certainly not ideal, but you can get a sense of damage.

Parser.

Until DoT damage are actually in combat log, it is impossible to parse BRD and SMN (both class rely on DoT). When both BRD and SMN are in the same group, DoTs damage are all going to SMN - because SE had the best idea to put all DoT damage under 1 damage.
While SMN DoT damage can be guessed by parser, that is not true for BRD since BRD rely on crit and those are never taken into account by parsers. A 50% crit DoT damage is way higher damage than a normal one.

BRD top damage has been proven numerous time under normal condition (not perfect where other shine more). Every fight involve movements lowering DPS of all class but BRD and SMN.
The difference is that BRD have a huge load of self buff allowing one of the best burst dps on a 20 sec period.


Anyway, none of this matter. BRD is essential for BLM and SMN to get a 10-20% boost thanks to requiem song. Having 2 BRD means requiem always up thus increasing BLM/SMN dps
