Please tell me the auto-login "feature" is only temporary

Sometimes I am qued for a dungeon for more than 30 mins. Should I really be kicked out of the game and lose my place in the que simply because I forgot to walk around while I wait? No. This the auto-time out feature should be an optional feature in the system configuration for people like you. It is not for everyone, and takes away from gameplay.

Again, you illustrated how stupid and pointless the autologout feature is. Anyone who gives a shit can defeat it easily. Thus, there is no point in having it in the first place. Why make people resort to such silly measures?

Things often don't go as planned. Sometimes a brief AFK can turn into something longer. If it has to exist, it should be at least an hour. make it any shorter and more people are going to raise a ruckus over it.

There is no reason to ever need to do anything like that. You are just being absolutely ridiculous. There are servers where people still get 1017 on prime time, especially JP. That right there makes the AFK kick worth it. Second you are putting undue stress on the server for no reason other than you being lazy or wanting to be entitled.

The only people that have any sort of argument, and its still a small one, is DPS waiting in queue. And I say its small because I don't know why you would waste that time and not progress something else in the game. I would rather farm and make gil while I wait.

Name one legitimate case where you actually NEED to remain logged in while you're not at the computer.

It's not that complicated to log back in if you need to be away for more than 30 minutes.

Most MMORPGs have a 10 or 15 minutes auto afk. 30 minutes is stupidly and unnecessarily generous as it is.

Again...let's hear one good, legitimate reason that your character needs to be unattended for 30+ minutes at a time.

Sometimes the dungeon queue fires, a person is AFK (almost always a DPS) and the queue messes up and puts you at the end again. Its rare, but it happens (WoW's queue does this on rare occasions too). regardless, its annoying to have to wait to cycle through several attempts to complete group.
So yes, I am glad that there is a lesser chance of this situation happening. 30 minutes is a *VERY LONG* time to not be at your keyboard.

I wanted to throw my two cents in here with my specific circumstances. I personally could benefit from the timer being 45 minutes.

For example, I've been spamming Ifrit HM to get a bow for the past few days while my daughter is in pre-school. As a DPS I have a longer wait time than a tank or a healer, which I'm not complaining about because I use it as an opportunity to do other things around the house. The average wait has been 25-35 minutes, and longer at times.

I enjoy the ability to look for a group while I can get some other things done. I realize that housecleaning punctuated by a 10-minute MMO fight here and there is the epitome of a first world luxury, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy that luxury.

I'd be fine with bumping it up to 45 minutes; I think anything more than that would be too long. Either way, this isn't going to cause me to uninstall the game and cancel my subscription or anything, just a different viewpoint to add to the voices already here.

Oh this is just a sad debate. If you aren't actively playing, then after 30 minutes you should be kicked. If you're in queue, you can craft, do fates, leves... there is a whole world of possibilities. If you choose to AFK then you have a 30 minute window to jump to show you're there.

If this is truly a break it point for some of you, then I couldn't be happier to see you go because this has benefit written all over it. Keep the servers clean from AFK abusers and filled with people who actively want to play.

Childish moaning and outlandish what ifs, I hope, won't sway SE to change their minds on this implementation.

I'm really surprised these is this many supporters of this. I guess I look at it like this. While I think auto-logout is stupid and pointless, it will log out all you supporters so I will never have login problems and yet, I will never be kicked out either. I guess its a win for me.
