Endgame Summoner -- Garuda

Thank you HiirNoivl for creating this thread. Summoner has a lot of flack going on about it due to many reasons. Hopefully this clears things up a bit and helps, perhaps new Summoners coming into the fray. :)

Thanks for posting this, anything that lets me understand the ins and outs of this class is welcome.

I feel like such a newb with a pet class. I've only ever been a straight caster in most games, and I feel silly since I've just had the pet on Sic. Now that I'm preparing for end game, is it recommended that I place the pet on Obey and manually input commands? I had been ignoring it since it triggered the GCD - is this a situational thing only?

Yes. Mainly because you want to make sure contagion is used when you have all four dots rolling. Also you want to try and time contagion with raging strikes if you can. having those DoTs buffed, + an extra 15 seconds of them is huge.

Great thread and informative, let me ask all of you Summoners this. Do you any of you use a Macro for your rotations and is it even worth it? I have been using one and it can be either bad or good. Good if I am not having to move out of boss abilities but bad if I am and having to recast my rotation all over again losing lots of DPS. By the way if any of you know any useful Macros for a summoner please share! Anything to make me and I am sure a lot of other Summoners better at their job would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :D

Wait a sec, does Contagion really behave as if it reapplied those DoTs instead of just refreshing their durations? And picks up the damage boost from Raging Strikes?

Right now I'm tooling around with Egi Controls (More on that later!) but Macros would be hard due to varying timers.

I have a macro for Rouse/Spur/Enkindle that casts them in that order with multiple button presses. Aetherflow has a few echo's to give me an idea of if I'm gonna end up with extra charges. Same with any other CD basically, just has echo's built into it, including the pet's contagion.
