I got in at 6:15am EST and logged out at 9am. Then I was never able to log in again...

What's not right is not right, regardless.

And to be honest, yes, companies being able to get away with whatever they want and not being held accountable IS as detrimental to our society as segregation. Multi-national corporations being flippant with customers has become a form of oppression

Error 1017 without even picking a character to log in with is fun.

At least it saves you the trouble of waiting for "Unable to retrieve NA/EU server list" or if that doesn't happen, the inevitable 1017 when you click your character or failing that, you join the queue and get an error 90,000 in the middle of it. Please go back to start, which incidentally may give you a lobby error and force your client to shut down.

What are they getting away with? they made a mistake at launch, they apologized and said there will be a fix by Wednesday and you will be compensated for it. If no action was taken or nothing was said by SE then i would full agree with you, but there doing something. There response to this was higher than most, this problem is being looked at within a week were most MMOs have taken months to do something or even respond. On top of that this is the ONLY major issue so far.

I understand people are upset that they cant play but going crazy and spamming the forums is a bit much, considering the company took full blame and planed to fix the issue.

They get away with releasing unfinished product. People come to expect flaws, which makes developers not work as hard to fix them.
They get away with incompetence. The entire industry is rife with it

Seriously, if it was EA, people would be at their door with pitch forks

They need to give everyone another extra week of free gametime to make up for all the 1017s, 2002s, 90000s and 3102s ppl are putting up with.

Maybe shut the servers down completely for 15min each day (3am - 4am would be great).
Booting the AFKers to make room for ppl that actually want to log in and play.
Banning the Botters, Gilfarmers & Gilspammers to make room for actual human beings to log in.

The difference is that's real life problems, this is a video game. And i have real life problems to attend to my self, so when i cant' get in instead of whining uncontrollably in the forums that I can't play, and i want to be the only one to play. I go outside get chores done, I go out to eat with friends. And not only that I log out so someone else can play.

I still manage to get in and play whether it be late at night or very early in the morning. I got something called an electric bill to pay so yeah i make sure i keep it cheap by turning off my comp. Sorry but this is just a video game i have more important things to tend to.

Going by this logic I ask these simple things:

Is it not a real problem if you buy a product you can't use when you go to use it? When you go out to eat with your friends is it not a problem that the waiter brings you something you didn't order much less want to eat? If you go to do your chores but the chores your working on needs something that is broken is that not a real problem to you? If you need to make a phone call and your cell or home phone isn't working couldn't that be a real problem? If your car doesn't work and you need to go to work is that not also a real problem?

I love how people fail to realize that with anything in life if something isn't working the way it's supposed to be working or what you paid for it to do it is in fact a problem in one way or another.
