Errrrr... Wait a second - i have to get THREE prestine egg caps from three cities, right? But why?? I don't need three similar caps, i want to get different caps!! Who made this quest?!?!

Get one cap

Chill out, wait for them to unlock the next part of the quest as the event goes on

Get second cap

Chill out, wait for them to unlock the last part of the quest

I moved to Limsa and started the quest there. As in Gridania, NPC asked me to get 3 eggs (lightning, water and earth) and one Archon egg. I get all these eggs (bought one of em)! Now NPC is telling something that "I'm back with eggs again" and doesnt change the eggs for another cap. What to do??

You are only going to get another prestine cap but you will have that quest added to your list. Just toss your first cap in a retainer and turn in the 2nd set of eggs to complete quest.

I'm just doing all three so I can have all three in my completed quest list. (OCD) Noone knows how to get the other caps yet. Might not even be in game until the update monday

This ain't the thing, guys At Eorzeapedia already tried that... it don't appear to have anything related to crafting.

To continue an earlier discussion, Jihli's text (Gridania) is the same as the quest start verse in Limsa. I did that one today.

i actually did find an alter a while ago while adventuring around Thanalan but honestly i cant remember where, and i wasnt wearing my pristine egg cap so i will deff go around looking for it again today, i remember getting to there from a cave entrance. This quest has been blowing my mind also. ^^ Perhaps the next part just hasnt been released yet, because monday we are supposed to have another update 1.17a but who knows.

The dreamer in uldah also metions "shell" and "protect" so i switched to conj while wearing the egg cap and tried casting protect on myself as well as shell, no avail.

For those that are curious, here's what Wadard (the Dreamer Kikina's assistant) at Ul'dah says when questioned about the eggs:

Fortune alights on the shoulders of those♪
Who gather the eggs that Heaven bestows!♪
Collect one Archon egg and one lightning, earth, and water Archon egg, and I shall give you a pristine egg cap, similar to the one the Dreamer wears herself.
This combination is required for the first step in the summoning ritual. The uncolored egg, representing one of the twelve Archons, is placed at the center of a circle made from the aspected eggs. It is from these that the Archon draws the energy needed to break from the aether and reenter this world.
And what happens after that, you ask? Why, the Archon leads us through the coming cataclysm, and on into a new era. It has been thus since the dawn of time.

When you actually turn in the eggs to get the cap, he says:

Have you brought all of the eggs I asked for?
Why yes, I believe they are all in order. Please wait here until I return with your reward.
A pristine egg cap, just as promised. And with this raiment, you will be recognized as a hero of the Archons. Keep it close, so that when our saviors return to Eorzea, they might know their loyal servants.

Makes me think that something else is going to happen at the update, too. I'm kind of hoping we're not overthinking this, though we probably are. It's going to feel lame if we put all this effort into it, only to realize that the next update just adds more eggs to collect to get a cap, then another one adds more eggs to collect to get a cap. X.x
