No its not too good, its not even as good as darklight unless you add materia, and one of the present stats is always below the stat cap. I have pieces of them too. Full set of heavy dark steel and some vanya healing from mats left over. They aren't better until I add materia to make up for the missing stats, and materia takes time too.
From a "I didn't have hoards of cracked materia or mats left over or multi-melts to sell from 1.0" perspective, they are not worth getting compared to darklight. Time spent getting to the point of making them is much better diverted towards getting ilvl90 gear from mythologies right now.
I said it a couple of times, but if you have the mats and stuff from 1.0, then they are good to craft, however they really aren't worth the tombstones after the fact. I think in phase 4 the mats had their normal cost, so it was the best time to get the materials and get stuff crafted then too. but when early access hit, it became unworthy.

On a related note, I was sitting on a bunch of Rose Gold Ingots from v1, so I made and sold a pair of Rose Gold Earrings HQ (made "accidentally" from normal mats) for 2.5 million, unexpectedly. These were probably underpriced given the ridiculous amount of tomestones needed to make these NOW.
For Gear, the cost of ingredients makes no sense AT ALL, but the Rose Gold / Astral accessories are pretty damn good considering their stats are close to the Darklight stuff, but they're extensible with Materia (including Grade IV)
Basically, if you have the ingredients from back when they weren't hell to make, go wild! these are good items. For everyone else: don't bother. Like, EVER. -

Speaking of prices again, I sold 2 NQ hard hippogryph leathers for 700k each. before redenomination, that is 7mil each. At no point during 1.0 would I ever have gotten 7mil for one of those. I think they were more like 50k, 5k in ARR, gil back in 1.0. I'm ~13mil after taxes richer thanks to SE causing price inflation. I didn't expect anyone to buy them tho.... I feel sorry for that guy really. Tho maybe he had plenty of money to burn on them.... still isn't worth it imo.

Just chiming in to agree with the above statements on the crafters items. 9 of each is absurd in so many ways, it's not really funny and takes a lot out of the pleasure of being a high end crafter.
