12/3/12 More testers to be accepted

LOL What's wrong? Kappy are you QQ'ing over the good news? Is Alpha not special enough any more? Omg excuse me while I crack up behind my monitor xD

Alpha was going to end at the end of the year anyway. That was plainly stated in an interview..

Let's not have yet another round of QQ'ing over other people getting into Alpha plz.

Really, if the producer can't keep his own way because people are complaining, yoshi is doing it wrong. Everyone know that people will complain, Yoshi first more than anyone.

Anyway i don't think that Yoshi got some problem because the people complain, otherwise he will open the world to a lot of more people now just to calm down everyone.

Hmm, do you think that ARR exist because people complained or it's because the game was a total failure with only looking at the playerbase numbers?

I don't think ARR exists due to people complaining. lol For people that didnt get in the alpha and are raging about it, that is a complaint. As far as the 1.0 launch goes, people didn't complain, they just simply stopped playing, and gave bad reviews. As a reaction, YoshiP and the crew were asked to work on the game. ARR wasn't even mentioned until probably about a year later after he took charge, or rather, nobody knew what the plan was at all until long after he took over.

The 1.0 patches and changes were a way to build and regain that trust, and listen to the current players and their "complaints" about the game.

Anyways, point is, complaints are not what created ARR. xD ARR was a reaction to the bad responses to the original FFXIV.

ARR exists because people complained and they weren't listened to. YoshiP explains that in a lecture. People were complaining loudly and no changes that they were complaining about were listened to.

Turns out maybe they should have listened to the QQ'ers.

I think it's more about the complains. FFXIV 1.0 couldn't go anywhere, the engine suck it pretty bad, it was more about the gameplay you got inside the game. Gameplay could be fix with update, like the new dev team made it at the end of last year and on march introducing job system, but the problem with the launcher and the engine it wasn't a thing that could be fixed without launching a new game.

But now, let put it on the way you're saying, ARR exist because people complained. People complained because the game was bad and left, now people complain because they want to be in the game, a part of it. And i think, besides all the complains, i can complain, you can complain, everyone here can complain, but anyways if whoever don't get an alpha invite, we won't say "hell, since i didn't get an alpha invite i won't be playing ARR", every QQer here will be playing on beta or after the launch.

The posts about "I deserve Alpha" were bad enough. I think the posts about "You shouldn't be in Alpha" are just as bad, if not worse. People shouldn't give Yoshi the evil eye over being generous for goodness sakes.

Like many others I was disappointed that I didn't get a invite to the alpha. Part of me wants the invite just to step into the new Eorzea and see what my dedication to the failed version of that game is getting me. A larger part of me wants to provide feedback to help make ARR the best it can be.

I participated in Alpha 1 and onward for ver 1.0. I gave my feedback and my concerns but that was to a dev team who had no ear for criticism. Many of my issues were resolved well over a year later with battle, exp and class reforms. I played despite the shortcomings, I stuck by my loyalty to the brand. I wasn't happy, I've been fairly vocal about some issues throughout the reboot. Part of me feels entitled to testing this new game, as many of you do.

I know I'll have another chance in the coming weeks. If I don't get an invite well there is for sure Beta, which if I recall correctly Legacy members are to be invited to. I'm eager to see this new Eorzea. But I'm even more eager to put in my two cents to help shape 2.0.

Heres to the future of XIV.
