That's not the important part, I was just trying to show text can be inapropriate enough (that's why I changed the example when I thought of a better one). The fact "they have to be sheltered to not know" doesn't matter. A rule is a rule, even if you don't agree with it. You can argue about its legitimity, but you'll still get punished if you break it.

The big difference between user content and msq is that msq will be evaluated, you exactly know what kids will be exposed to. FFXIV talk about prostitution and slavery, but it always stay at a reasonable lvl. You cannot know if players will have that restrain. comparing msq with user generated content is such bad faith argument.

I mean tbh that is the fault of these parents they forced most of the Real-life clubs/adult venues out of business irl are the city just stopped allowing them to run them due to having to have a license to run a business and they get to decide rather u can or can't with them. I mean Damn you used have gyms and even food places that were adult-only until society started FORCING every space to be family-friendly and annoying bs Between Religion zealots screaming Morality bs and Annoying parents forcing every space in existence to be family-friendly meanwhile their "kid" they want to protect so much is drawing furry/ or anime porn in their notebook or computer/ creating fan fiction stories on Wattpad ( yes we all did that too and some of us still do it) I don't get why people are so annoying overprotective like they didn't go and do these "adult" things when they were 14 and lied their way into getting beer/vodka etc and write or look at pornographic materials lol, even before the internet teen/kids were looking at that from their daddy or mommy's collection under their bed lol, and these people pretend and ignore the truth and scream "grooming" at any adult-themed things being around mean while I can almost 100% grant that their kid knows more about that stuff then even they do lol

There is a third way:

You can simultaneously be OK with adults doing adult things privately, while also lamenting that Square Enix has used the rise in ERP/clubbing as an excuse to pour no effort into the game, and that the culture of FF14 has now completely shifted.

I dislike the culture shift and miss the HW/SB days when we talked about which opener is better for which fight in Idyllshire chat but at the same time I really can't begrudge the ERPers because what else is there to do in the game when it's so stale and you get a thin soup every 4.5 months lol

I pretty much only use my FF14 accounts as an ERP screen saver + [unspecified activities] now lmao. Of course everything will become ERP/clubbing when the game itself is so horrible. This game is Second Life 2.0.

funny thing it hasn't shifted :P its been like this since Housing came out in ARR lol, just more of it now than there was simply because there are more people around, the game is on more platforms and other things, and its grown due to the fact combat has grown worse, and worse over the years, jobs became nothing but new color and animation being all that different, fighting became zombified where you basically shut brain off and autopilot through

Obviously there has always been ERP, but the playerbase as a whole has never been this clubbing/RP/ERP focused in HW.

I've seen people say the pandemic is to blame, considering everybody had to stay indoors for the most part

but there definitely has been a shift, and it seems to become increasingly more popular
maybe popular isn't the right word, but you see more and more venues crop up

didnt say 100% of people did it, i just said its always been here and ya there was more to do back then and jobs were better designed and felt unique which helped alot, but in the dead times dead periods while waiting for the next thing after people hit max on everything alot of people did even back then.

Tbh I think its a good thing that the ERP and 18+ scene grew its time we FIGHT these stupid parents shoving their kids in every little space that exist and forcing family friendly bs I hope it keeps growing nonstop. even though i dont erp i more horror/gore rp but still I'm happy the erp group is growing more and more to fight these parents bs away if only people were doing this IRL.


Maybe if it doubles or triples I can get exactly what I've been wanting for a long time as a by-product of them forcing the kids out of the game and making it purely 18+
