Please, make auto-demolition 90-120 days. It's time.

Here's a better idea, remove auto demolishing.
Make more plots, wards & subdivisions instead and make housing cheaper. Since if there's more plots then it'll be more accessible to more players, and with more plots there wouldn't be any need for demolishing to occur in the first place.

The demolishing is a feature the community requested so people that fully retire from FFXIV do not leave their plots behind. Since housing is limited, its just inefficient to keep stacking availability on top. So really, the demolishing makes sense (the short timer for the demolition however does not)

IMHO, a better solution would be to create a new instanced housing system, and give players a good proper incentive to move to that one, slowly decommissioning that crap system that we are stuck with now.

Removing demolishing, and moving some of the dead server housing to the other data centers would be a smart move. And then add new wards when needed

It's a terrible take. Someone leaves the game but their unused house is just sitting there forever? Just move to instanced housing, boom, done.

I know it'll never happen. Neither will they turn off the autodemo forever. But if we're fantasizing about nonsense solutions may as well fantasize about ones that work for everyone.

and also if you have a casual friend just get them a tenant right they only have to walk it once a month to reset the timer

they would make more money with housing items on the cash shop in a week from instance housing for everyone then they made ever from people who felt locked into a sub because of a house.

No they would not make more money from those, and if they did, it would be a one time boost while people get them, and then it would stagnate, while ward housing and keeping it as it is gives money very long term.
