So let's do a little math then shall we? The WoW token is exchangeable to $15 on your battle.net account for 271,388 gold at this moment. So at this amount it would take 6 WoW tokens to hit $90. That means this lovely Bronto can also be obtained for 1,628,328 gold which is a hell of a steal compared to the original bronto mount as you cited.

My point here is you could also obtain this mount with gold, something that is not possible in 14 at all. Is the $90 bronto an egregious addition, yes it is. I would argue though then the fact 14 has shop exclusive movement speed increasing mounts and the only 8 seater mount in the game (unless DT added one I was unaware of) is also rather egregious especially consider I can get that bronto for gold as noted in the math earlier.

Oh yes the wow token, who could forget, the thing that is just blizzard letting people have a legal tender form of gold selling instead of going to a 3rd party website.

Also how the WoW Token is well known amongst the WoW Community on how it enables RMT, how it screws over the economy because of gold inflation and price inflation. Its well known for being used for raid carries and for boosting someones pvp rank to higher than it should be. Its also used to buy gear.

That just because you can farm gold to buy a token and therefore increase the money in your account balance, doesn't mean people don't directly swipe with their credit cards to buy gold through a wow token.

RMT would be an issue in FF14 if gil actually mattered but it doesnt but u still see bots daily in each city advertising while I don't see any of that in WoW. RMT has always existed, will always exist even back in TBC era of WoW with the incursion of chinese goldfarmers. I'd rather give my money to blizzard than Chang personally.

Also this part is false because WoW token gold doesn't appear out of thin air and their price has a cap. Boosting is also not against WoW rules and boosting happens a lot, even with RMT, in FF14. If it wasnt for tokens it'd be for something else. Paypal transactions arent hard to setup. And u can literally RMT in FF14 and buy gear off the market board? Or I could pay for ultimate carries with my paypal balance?

I could equally say after having added up all the numbers myself, I am never buying a thing from the 14 store again. It was rather eye opening to add up row after row and go "How is Costume Sets alone worth more then WoW's whole store." The reason I ran those numbers was curiosity at this claim that Blizzard was way worse about their monetization of WoW after seeing it cited for so long and I wanted actual data. I won't disagree both are bad but 14 is a whole lot worse on the overall due to the aggressive amount of small purchase items. You never really realize how much $7 emotes or $18 outfits add up and that was the point of my former comparison.

And if you got caught doing that in 14, you would get punished by SE. Again, you missed the point about having access to legal tender gold selling and RMT in world of warcraft thanks to the gold token.

Part of the reason the wow token is even as pricey as it is right now is because of bots in wow. Most common class used for botting? Druid, specifically Moonkins. Its been years at this point and Blizzard still hasn't fixed that, leaving it up to automation instead of actually having gms.

The thing about the WoW store is they constantly rotate items out each month and keep some permanently. The XIV store has kept every single item available since day 1. While WoW abuses fomo, XIV abuses the sheer amount.

I raise you FFXIV doing nothing about multiple FC houses owned. Running fleets of submarines.

I mean Blizzard should improve overall, very messy and shakey transition, but now they can throw money and people at development...
