"DDOS" for MONTHS on end with no resolution UNACCEPTABLE

I keep seeing people debate if it's the actual FFXIV servers getting DDOS'd or this NTT node people keep mentioning. How do we determine what is causing it? Because I remember I time I had to use a VPN to get around the problem node and there was ZERO world from SE in the Lodestone about it. But now we're getting a Lodestone post almost every day about DDOS attacks.

Cancelled both my subs today after being a constant subscriber for years. The game has declined beyond the point I can justify paying them for it. The quality of the Dawntrail expansion story and content was a big drop, but not being able to even play for weeks to months because of constant network failures while white knights fervently defend their inability to address the issue or find a remedy through investment in new server infrastructure took it over the edge.

Based on feedback from support tickets and the lack of a critical focus on this issue over the past 2+ months I have no confidence SE intends to invest any money in making this better. So long as they have people who make excuses why it is acceptable to collect monthly fees for a service they do not invest what is necessary to maintain, there is no incentive in the boardroom to spend one cent on actually solving this problem.

If people buy hamburgers at full price whether or not you include a patty, and rabidly defend patty-lacking burgers, why would you bother to spend money on beef?

This is no longer a product I can justify supporting financially. Hopefully that will change as more people arrive at the same conclusion.

Side note: End-stage western capitalist value extraction is NOT a model that eastern markets should aspire to.

Exactly what I said a few days ago tbh, this game's community will be the downfall of FFXIV, not SE. Bunch of "yes men" is what this community is.

It's not anything SE can directly fix; you have obviously NEVER worked a job where your success depends on an outside vendor, and you are SOL until they get their crap together so you can do your job.

The DDoS is probably not even real, their servers are probably too old and are dying but they are too cheap to buy new servers so they use DDoS as an excuse.

Maybe the fact that you site zero sources for your "special knowledge," resort to ad hominem attacks, and defend a multi-billion dollar company based on nothing but a misguided sense of loyalty?

EDIT: I will say this. If SE board is waiting to spend money on server infrastructure until the cost in lost subs is greater than the investment, they are in for a rude awakening. The loss to reputation and customer confidence is not something you can just turn back on like a light switch if/when you EVER decide to pony up the cash. This is something that, once damaged, equates to significant long-term losses and diminishing returns.

Maybe should work on offline option or start letting ones have private servers. If this keeps going on think I will cancel my last family sub for FFXIV and take my money to online game that doesn't get DDOS attacks every other day.
