It’s hard to overestimate how bad the healers are dampening my excitement of the expansion
About the only thing I’m unequivocally excited for is field content and that’s mostly because if they continue with lost actions I can actually do something interesting with a healer

There's a lot of bouncing back and forth on what needs to be fixed but really it's as simple as this.
The writers need to do better.
The job design team need to do better.

As everyone else, I am concerned for the future story, gameplay and all that stuff, but I won't judge until I see more info on the matter.
That being said, from whatever I've seen, I hope this flying yoghurt is not the best they can do animations wise, or that'd be very sad.

Viper didn't look like anything special either.

Honestly, Im not really hyped about the expansion either. I am interested in the story, as I do like the FF9 flavour. But overall, there is no real hype.
But I also do care about gameplay and job rotations. We heard literally nothing about jobs and still have to wait few more weeks to either get excited or disappointed.
The only material we have so far are the new job animations from the benchmark and by the looks of it, those skills are just upgrades to existing skills. I really want to believe in CBU3, but I fear that we're going to experience Endwalker 2.0.

I'm excited for DT but I am not hyped for it yet. That will probably change after the media tour, that's usually the big inflection point for me.
Regardless, there's just not really anything there to get excited for if you are looking for something cool or new. All the new content coming down the pipe so far is just stuff we've already got. New DD, new Exploratory Zone, more Variants, another limited job. The most unique thing announced so far is whatever cosmic exploration ends up being. But that mystery will probably end up being ishgardian restoration 2.
Since I generally like ff14 in it's current state, this is all fine with me. I've got my complaints but am certainly looking forward to just having more of that same great taste, bold new flavor or whatever. But it's not exciting like going into hw wondering what Diadem was going to be like (garbage) or going into EW wondering what island sanctuary would be like (garbage).

On the one hand, I'm interested in Tural and seeing how they pulled inspiration from IX but on the other hand, what little they've given us from 6.55 and the trailers hasn't done anything to get me hyped.
The impression I have of Wuk right now is that she's more a more comic relief version of Lyse, someone who seems like a fun adventuring buddy but a questionable choice as a figurehead of a people.
Her introduction and the introduction to Tural's succession of the crown seemed really rushed and I feel like it should have been introduced sooner in the MSQ (it doesn't help that I didn't like how they handled Zero and the Void arc during the 6.x storyline).
Our characters are essentially agreeing to help a comic relief character we barely know become the ruler of a land we barely know all for the sake of adventure™.
I'm really hoping to be pleasantly surprised and that they'll subvert my expectations but I have to brace myself just incase they do flop it up. (ㆆ _ ㆆ)

I'm in the "meh"/neutral position too here, but looking overall, i don't think the theme of the expansion itself serves much to bring hype either
I feel if i showed any of my friends the HW, specially SHB and to an extent EW trailer, it would pick their interest, a lot happens in those, SHB straight up has one of the best representations gameplay-cutscene there is with the job swaps and combat scenes, putting story in the middle without overdoing it so even if you know nothing about it you go back to WOL vs warden of light and go monka mode
EW has A LOT of action packed but it's true it can rely a bit on story, but it's normal being the conclussion of the whole saga
But DT?
You got... Estinien hunting, he jumps so it's cool, i guess
Alisaie walking around...Y'sthola existing, kinda... Thancred and Urianger hanging around... And the fight scene between WOL and the mamool ja is so chopped into pieces compared to the extended version it ends up being nothing
And now for us this is, great(?), seeing the characters we love so much doing this kind of stuff, but it's a whole expansion trailer we're talking about, what are you supposed to take out of here in terms of hype
And then you have Krile wich is cool but again it's, just fine
I feel the problem just comes from a bigger root rather than the next things presented and possible issues(same formula, jobs being the same, yara yara)

When the release date was announced to be 1 week after the release of Shadows of the Erdtree and my reaction was "Ugh, why so soon?" it was clear to me how little anticipation I had for DT.
That being said I do have some intrigue for this expansion because I really want to see how much longer CBU3 can get away with ignoring any kind of meaningful change in their game and whether the community will provide enough feedback to finally force them to do something about it. We've finally come upon the end of a long journey watching them completely tear down and rebuild the earlier years of the game to fit their goal of a Solo-able MMO for the widest possible audience, and now we're being distracted with a graphical update no one asked for. But eventually there won't be anything left to avert attention from the stale formula and I want to be around to see what it looks like when the people who joined in the ShB-EW years are finally bored out of their minds like the rest of us.
Oh, but I guess I am always excited for new fish to catch.

It honestly feels like the slog of ARR returning for me personally. Our 10 year story was finished with Endwalker. So, now it's a question of how much boring content do we sit through before the next story gets interesting again? I think that's why most people have low expectations for Dawntrail.
The major problem is the lack of hype material before launch. We don't know much of anything and the launch is only 2 months away. The benchmark was also a huge miss with showing off the graphics update and was probably worst case scenario for those looking for some kind of hook to get excited for things to come. Endwalker itself was hit or miss for most people, but at least it had years of story buildup to drive interest. We are going into Dawntrail with almost everything solved... And that's a lot to ask someone to get excited for with how Endwalker was received overall.

I kinda dread expansions because they've managed to ruin several jobs for me every one I've been playing for.
