Then it sounds like you're getting close...just more practice...50% in 5 mins does still mean you'd have to survive phase 2, but parties do it. Although, it is easier to skip it if you have the DPS in the front...but either way, sounds like you're making forward progress.

Its definitely skill check and gear check and definitely doable with various setup and You dont need a static.

The reason why NA snt doing garuda fight isnt because they have all weapon, the one that have all weps are mostly in an established LS and wouldnt want to do it with PUG anyway, i dare anyone here to come up and proof me wrong if you have full weapon and is not in an established endgame LS and are only active in socials and PUG party.

PUGs and casual themselves arent able to pull manaburm itself, the reason why NA PUGs isnt successful in this fight is because most are shit that consists of shitty players that expect to faceroll content wearing full AF, there is few exception of course but this is pretty much true in most MMO include FFXI, this isnt a science itself, its a hard cold truth.

It might be just my experience, but unless you are in establoshed LS, NA pugs tends to give up so easy, they blame others for their faulty, it was never their fault, they never do research on the fight, sometimes the leader of the party dont even know whats happening.

To OP, if you are dying to AB, then whoever is doing the plumes sucked, it could be either they are not skilled, not geared properly for this fight (yes you want min of 480 acc total after songs and food for this fight), or just downright retarded and doesnt know what they are doing (means doing what aibility or skill at what moment, having no 3k tp at the start of last plumage or using wide volley at garuda)

If plumes are clear every single cycle, it would take at least 7 garuda jumps for her to break pillar alone.

You need to accept your party isnt as skilled as you think they are, alternatively you can post vid on fights so we can help you fix area that needs to be fixed.

Yes, there was chart somewhere.

But basically have the tank always face one directiion all the time at this phase near the edge of tornado, she will either teleport outside tornado or inside the ring.

Watch minimap closely,
If she teleports outside tornado, run opposite direction out of her range, she teleports north, you run south.
If she teleports inside the ring, run to her rear.

I guess i will try to make chart somehow, since its hard to explain lol

This is general position used, tank to the west, everyone else om her rear, light green spidol stroke is tornado aroud the battlefield, tanks do not fancy stuff at this point make sure you face only one direction, tanking at west means tank facing east all the time.

Party will kill off plumes at this point, enters this positioning after plumes are cleared

when you see garuda jumped once and garuda removes tornado around batllefield, make sure all DPS moves to party behind prepares for her teleports, tank will stay at his position without, pay close attention to minimap

When she teleports there will be 2 variance, teleport inside ring or teleport outside ring.

Garuda teleports outside ring, this will hit 3/4 of arena, moves to the other end of arena. Do remember she can teleports anywhere outside, there is no pattern here, its random. So pay close attention to minimap and rum accordingly.

This phase is what usually kills ppl most thats why alot try to skip this phase asap, but its doable with enough practice, it become second nature if you do this phase alot.

We get how it's "supposed" to work (and the minimap thing, its soooo useful). It just always felt like the "inside the ring" shrieks always came out faster but probably just us freaking out lol. When we tanked her at the edge she seemed to pop in a really bad spot and we ended up having to run all the way across the arena which takes too long. I'm guessing we need to take her exactly North/South/East/West and she won't pop on the edge there?

I run parser each fight and most of the BLM was in full AF parsing 8k-9k lol >.> That is umm...awful by Garuda's "expected" standards. They have to push out like 16k+ for it to work. So yeah...gear does matter. You need materia gear to do that much damage. >_< I wish I could just invite randoms and we can get stuff done. Game is getting really boring because that is impossible! Most people I know want to be able to log in and play. Not form some static and log in at specific times to play. Lames....

Even in FFXI that was possible basically with anything except HNM. :(

Updated prev post with chart, but where she teleports always seems very random lol, but when you take her to one same place everytime, it just make it seems more predictable and easier for ppl to get used to.

If you get stuck with phase 2, just have your tank and the rest of the party run away from each other when she flies into the air, having your tank face everyone else before she lands. If she lands in the center she will always land in front of the last person to have hate on her, aka: the tank.

Doing this correctly, you should never get hit by her shriek when she lands in the middle. If she lands on the edge, everyone still has plenty of time to run to the opposite side.

This is to the people coming in and reading these type of post. Please ignore the post whining about gear or dps check or anything that stuff. It's just people whining cause they either aren't skilled enough or are using terrible strats. Garuda is not a dps check and it's not a gear check or anything that stuff. Basically people are just venting on the forums hoping that someone will spoon feed them better strats cause they can't figure it out themselves. I do hope SE puts in tougher fights just so i can watch these noobs come cry on the forums about it being to hard :)

I join pick up party for this a lots. And generally almost 90% of the party (jp) can get garuda below around 40% hp before AB to skip the middle phase.

But even so, the failing rate is still high. Because this fight is really zero tolerance. 1/8 in the pt did something wrong because of lag, gf aggro or just stupid will guarantee a wipe. Like for the clones, not kill them fast enough then you get wipe by one hit death penalty.

This fight is asking ppl with high dmg and keep focus with no mistakes. It sure is a difficult fight but also it's a very boring fight. You just need to follow the strategy, with good equip and do all the steps correctly to beat it. Anything goes wrong, you start over and repeat again.

Ifrit and moogle on the other hand are more player friendly. Many of you should have experience that you had face an almost wiped situation but still manage to come back to victory.

But for Garuda, you are just playing with time bomb.
