I call it the FFX-2 effect. Take characters that were pretty cool in the original when things were bad...and once fixed...they become caricatures.

Take Yuna. She was hell bent on sacrificing her own life much like her father before her to save people. Once the danger was gone she immediately became a bimbo and a J-Pop star.

Cid went from "I'm kidnapping summoners so they stop sacrificing themselves and will try to kill Sin myself with overwhelming firepower" into "Hey this place where many summoners died will make a great way to make money by turning it into a tourist attraction!".

I'd give more examples if I haven't given up on the game 3 times after playing for about 3 hours each time. Maybe it gets better and people stop devolving if I just kept going.

I mean I'd like some diversity but this is just asking for blatant favoritism.
