Mao does nots eat Lalas. It was Lalas in blacks robes who rescued Mao from streets of Ul'dah. Thems told Mao "We will teach you how to channel your hate" and raised Mao to be BLMs. Mao was very angrys at poncy long-neck big-ears for killings Mao adopted dragon brother so Mao learned much from thems. Later on though, Mao learned from Estinien to hate less. Estinien kinda likes Mao new big brother.
