I know full well that's why I said it was a step in the right direction. It was at least better then sitting in dragons aery with 5 other ls's trying to claim bot over you.

I saying open world HNM's can work if SE takes an active step in making them difficult to claim/find.

It's fine to say things like " I dislike all these Instances and I wish for 2.0 to have less of them". If you want SE's attention 100% anyways, giving them "Constructive Criticism" is the best and most effective feedback SE can ask for. I do my fair share of whining and complaing, and I need to do this change as well.. but if we all want a top notch FFXIV 2.0 game then this is something we need to do as Fans of FFXIV.

Everything will be instanced in 2.0 and there is nothing wrong with instanced content, i don't get you guys. Are you all that caught up on claim wars?

Yoshi-P stated and i'm just quoting him here. The reason for instanced content is that it makes it easier for the dev team to develop content, for the design team to come up with dungeons with more detailed themes and gets rid of claim wars.

People like claim wars, it's a pretty enjoyable form of competition. It's a much more difference then PvP type competition, your on the hunt against other equally skilled players for the same boss. You must claim the boss for your group, the satisfaction is unlike anything else I've experienced in my gaming career. While I never touched HNM's due to the whole drama biz, I did camp a variety of lesser NM's. Even when camping a NM alone by myself with no other competitors my heart will leap when I finally saw the boss I was after. Personally I'd love for a concept like this to be expanded upon.

There is nothing wrong with instant content by any means, but there is also nothing wrong with open world content as well.

some people just do not like all instances. i am one of them. i don't mind some instances, but i like some open world competition also.

i will say i do not like the instanced dungeons the way the have been put in game so far. speed run speed run speed run. they can't use balancing content is easier either unless they want to say they are just horrible at balancing in general. every piece of content they have put in they have left glaring flaws to set up class stacking by making it easy to complete content on certain classes.

Personally i find it hard to find a single logical reason to complain about instanced content.
You have to understand that instanced content will always have better balanced battle, created for certain number of people (8 in most cases), giving you sweet challenging gameplay without ability to avoid it bringing 3 parties and raping that same NM in 20 seconds... Not only that but also improves your gameplay cause you would probably have some latency/lag cause of overpopulated area, and i'm not even talking about competition camping NMs outside the instance... Do you really like to compete with those claiming bots? Do you really enjoy it? Well... i sure dont.

It's a matter of viewpoint you prefer instanced events so you can easilly see the negatives of other means of entertainment but fail to realize the flaws in your own. Both systems have flaws and it's a matter of preference if those flaws are big things for you or not.

For instance my biggest beef with instanced content is that as a player who likes to explore content and feel it out for myself wether it's intended for a group or not I can learn alot by going into a area blind, by myself, no direction and no reason. Not only is it incredibally fun for me to expereince the many ways I will get slaughtered but I also get to experience the struggles of others, I can walk into a dungeon and see a group of people struggling against the first monsters of the area.

I can slip past and see what is beyond, I can slip by groups of monsters more easilly than a stack of 8 players, I have no fear of death or my party disbanding because I wasted there time.

When I do open world content I have no bariers to where I can go or what I can do. I can craft in the middle of a warzone if I see fit, and do so for hours without worry about some arbitrary time limit or group waiting on me. I can sit beside a serene waterfall just to enjoy the suroundings for however long I want. I can invite people to show the wonders I have found and I have no limitation to how many I can bring. I could bring a single friend who has no business being there level or content wise...or I could bring thousands.

In the open world...I am free to do as I please, and when that open world has millions of things that I could be doing something like Bots farming a silly 24/7 spawn doesn't bother me. Because I am free to experience the world as I please when I please with whom I please.

When I'm doing instanced content I have to experience the world on someone elses scheduel, within a time limit, and with a "Ballanced" group of peers.

See how easy it is to be blind to the issues the content you enjoy is?

TOR isn't a good game, though. Also that idea sounds pretty awful. The game should stay how it is now, open world with instances for gear that matters/bcnms/etc.

However if HNM's were open world, SE really needs to implement them carefully. A simple pop spot like in FFXI is simply a horrid idea. I will give it to them tho, they started getting creative with HNM's later down the line. HNM's like Ixion, That sandworm thing, Turul(not really a HNM's but a good concept none the less) were steps into the right direction. HNM's that weren't static, Ixion popped in multiple zones, and Turul roamed around a zone. They just didn't stay in one spot I think that's the point I'm driving it. You actually would have to look for them lol

The thing is we never called them instances...we called them by the names given to them...same thing with raids and dps...FF has its own identity, its what seperated it from all other games...it was good enuff to stand on its own, we survived with both open world, instances and HNM content before and we can again...
