Roleplay/Partyfinder Discrepancies & Policy Enforcement by GM's

I'm also noticing a lot of people in this thread that are seemingly conflating (18+) and (ERP) which is far from the truth of the matter. Most adults in this game would rather play with other adults as there are plenty of caveats that pop up when roleplaying with someone who is underage, something as simple as a bar can become incredibly awkward if you have minors present. I know plenty of 18+ only FCs that have no involvement with anything of an outright explicit nature, they just want to be able to have more mature conversations.

I agree, or give them their own RP tab in the Party Finder and remove anything that crosses whatever line SE has for their age rating.

They should be able to easily find like minded people and organize events without having to resort to shouting in cities if at all possible.

It's not offensive but I'd rather not have my chatbox be filled with maid cafe shouts and the like when I'm in a city either.

That's the other point, people will use /sh more and fill that with spam. If /sh and PF are bad places, then another avenue will help.

This. My FC deals with much darker aspects of human culture and psyche, and delves into some grim scenes of violence and reality. Very, very rarely do we breach the subject of sexuality, and even if we do, it tends to be almost in passing.

Also, as a more clear denomination of both above-stated points and since this is something that was mentioned several times before, this game is rated T for the content that SE themselves provide and develop. However, SE also states and claims that online interactions (social activities) are NOT RATED and are only moderated on a case-by-case basis as when reported when something is in violation of the TOS. So while, yes, policy number 3.3 may not allow certain language or word-use to be appropriate in party finder, it doesn't mean that adult content is forbidden from within the game. Pornographic language isn't allowed in public forum, but ads for an adult venue is completely within reason. As expressed by another GM from another occasion:

No. My argument is that effectively the Fellowship Finder is a more appropriate way of doing things, as opposed to seeing potentially unwanted and NSFW social content on the Party Finder, and that allowing it in any capacity as opposed to deviating to Fellowship Finder just further enables people to post potentially unwanted material on the Party Finder. I don't particularly find it interesting knowing about fetishes, brothels, and/or other explicit content when I'm scouting the Party Finder for content. The fact I've seen it, as have many is reason enough, thank you.

The problem is that the conflation doesn't matter. SE is technically well within their rights to request that 18+ adverts not be posted publicly because the game is legally rated and breaches of that legal rating could get them into trouble. So, if the stance is "You cannot have 18+ adverts on PF because we cannot condone anything above our legal rating on an official level" then that is a fair stance. It doesn't matter if your 18+ content isn't sexual, you have still rated it as more mature than the game's legally intended audience and SE can, rightly, ask you to not use PF to advertise content above that age limit. Legally, in fact, they might very well have to. Recall that this is the same game that can only have minor depictions of blood and has previously had to outright manipulate cutscenes they wanted to do (like a soldier being shot with an arrow I'm fairly certain is an exact example Yoshida himself gave) because the legal rating of the game made those depictions inappropriate.

However, if the stance is focused solely on 18+ due to the legal age rating, this means the entirely SFW and rating appropriate PFs should not be taken down and threatened with warnings.

This is the crux of the entire issue: there is no clarity on what this new ruling is. Is it for 18+ venues? If so, why have SFW venues been targeted? Or is it because they're now enforcing a rule that party finder can only be used for the express purpose of gathering a party to do SE-predefined content, that you commence immediately as soon as your party is filled? Because if that is the case, why are RMT sellers not being targeted, why can I still find PFs for feet pics or literal AFK clubs, how can they justify not targeting crafters selling levekits or users selling homes/items, etc. etc. Heck, under that specific description, static recruitment is also not allowed by definition, because it isn't forming a party with the express purpose of doing content immediately, it's socially recruiting to a static so you can do content on specified times at later dates.

The issue is that there is no clarity on what this new rule is supposed to be and what it's actually meant to be achieving.

Im currently not aware of a governing legal body that requires text communication to adhere to such a strict guideline that operates in a region officially supported by the main server group (China is on a separate server). Groups like PEGI and the ESRB are consumer groups that are designed to allow other consumers to make informed choices, they are not legal bodies that can issue fines. There's also a reason why groups such as those aforementioned specifically state that online interactions are not part of their rating system.

Sad to see snowflakes reporting these ones and SE taking actions against them instead of the bots and raid run sellers
