My issue with middies is the hair issues. Clipping, missing textures on the reverse face(leading to hair that is invisible/floating from certain angles), mismatched textures on certain seams/altered lighting properties that just look plain bad.

I never said it was a problem. I dont think it is actually. I just mentioned other races have the same features. You got on to me for "attacking your race" instead of your point. So I countered your point, and you still aren't happy.

I love that hair, if midlander fems didn't run so strangely & had more detailing to the face; it would have been my 1st pick with that hairstyle. I wish there was a variant with bangs, like side split bangs, Rinoa Heartilly style- aside from the typical black and white you see often with many player characters, she is pretty

The bigger issue is female hyurs stiff idle poses and running, now that should be changed if anything. (add some new voices since most of them sound like seizures with cheer/happy)

The faces are subjective, for example the face you use on your Viera I wouldn't use I don't think it's ugly just not my thing you can be unique with faces 1 and 5 that depends on so many things, glam, skin tone, hairstyle, etc it's up to you have you wanna make your character.

I will agree with the idle poses and the running to a degree but this was the first character I made in ff 14 since 2.0 I have Fantasia'd but I always come back to this toon so the running animation doesn't bug me as much since I"m used to it I guess but I do want a proper running animation in the end. As for voices I like a lot of em, personally I use voice 2 to me it's got the best battle voice and the most obnoxious laugh that's become a meme in my FC because spamming it is hilarious.

If we look at Viera though their emotes are lacking, their voices are eh I guess I use 7 and 9 and 5 if I went Viera but they're not consistent for me since I play tank I like to hear battle voices so I guess i'm a weird one but Viera are so reserved when it comes to any personality, again just my opinion. I did jump on the Bun bun train at the start of ShB but after a week or so it just wasn't for me the emotes and lack of hairstyles combined with the voices they didn't get the best treatment for this expansion, maybe if they had more oomph into their emotes and better hairstyles + hat options and better voices I'd race change to them, but sadly it wasn't meant to be.

I think this height thing actually is the cause of a great deal of the net negativity revolving around both races' overall character designs.

Elezen heads arent too small, they are visually enlarged by the ears and hairstyles. It would look comical if their ears were sticking out further than their arms.

There is no "normal height for women" in the game where we have few distinct different races.

And if we are at it, miqote has unproportional faces, having the gap between the eyes bigger than it should be with often non existing chin and jaw which makes them look like they are underage. Lost of viera faces for instance suffer from "mouth breathing syndrome" and auras have a resting bitch faces too.
We could argue how certain races arent perfect, but that what makes them different and people with different tastes could find something for themselves. Get rid of those little gimmick and you will see how terrible character creator would be without them and we all would end up looking the same, which would be pretty stupid.
I like elezen proportions for instance, their legs are huge and smexy, someone else could like aura for their diverse and rich skin colours, others like roes for having big bodies, and others like the Viera body figure.

Back to the topic, look OP this is face #4 for midlaner, does she look ugly? :p

Oddly enough I don't get that sense on any of my Viera (max height). It's either a happy accident or they've got a genius of an animator.

The Midlander run anim kills me every time but I'd love to have their pose on other races. Heck I wish we could configure each of the various animations. I know, I know, everybody will use Miqo'te /panic ;)

Fem midlanders run "Japanese anime." That peculiar side-to-side arm swing is insanely common in that media.
