I would still play but I would be upset if something were to happen to Gridania. With that said I can get over it.

My WoL doesn't really have a city. What I've got for her story has her hometown already destroyed, and it wasn't in any of the three ciy states. She likes Gridania because of the forest, but if it was destroyed it would be the loss of life (and depending on the scale, culture) that would upset her.
Me personally... I'm not terribly attached to any of the three city states. I'd be unhappy if Ishgard went, because I want housing there, and I'd be unhappy if Crystarium went, because it's imo the most beautiful city in the game right now, but I wouldn't quit over it or anything.
As long as they didn't go the route of Aion, whose devs seem to have decided that for every new zone added another one needs to be deleted. :/
As someone who played v1, I was pretty devastated the night Dalamud fell and End of an Era first played. Watching Eorzea destroyed and Lou taking a mega flare to the face was heart wrenching. These days tho...yeah blow it up. I have lost a lot of my attachment to the game world between the length of time I have played and the choices that have been made, then repeated, and repeated, and repeated, and repeated.
Plus, I am so over this storyline, we have been dealing with Ascians for 10 years now and if we could just end this once and for all by taking out the city states, I would do it in a heartbeat just to get some new antagonists and protagonists for that matter.
Oh no! I really hope they don't destroy Garlemald before I actually get to go there ._.
Outside going to the Aftcastle once in a blue-moon because of seasonal events I never spend any time in Limsa Lominsa, so if the story destroyed it for some plot reason or another I can't say I'd be too terribly distraught.
