Main story kinda rail roads you into the hero path. I usually prefer to play bad guys or anti-heroes in it for the profit if given the option.
A lot of creativity here. There's always the pre-scripted identity of the mighty here in MMORPGs, but taking a character out of that for a broader or deeper identity can really open things up.
I have tons of alts, only one of them is the WoL.
I tried for my WoL to be as close to canon as possible, and let the game be the one that writes his story instead of me. So he's a strange Midlander who woke up in Gridania, with no real memories of his past life. He's friendly, eats a lot, loves challenge too much for his own (or anyone else's) good, and is not a heavy thinker. Basically, the WoL haha.
I always envisioned RP as people talking like a shakespearean in-game. I don't do that lol. However, perhaps everyone RPs subconsciously. Example, I create toons with a purpose, to be a pun usually. My main character, Super Summoner, is just a spinoff of me being a DBZ & Summoner fan. So, I combined the two.
I feel like, everyone may have a character, for their character in mind when creating their character.
(Not sure that made sense..)
Prince Lorian is a broken miqo'te struggling with the events and memories of his life. All the while appearing cheerful in public, he's drowning in substance abuse in private.
Gonna try to condense what I wrote about mine.
Born to an Oronir father and Mol mother while in Doma, both of which took part in the Doman war with Garlemald. She became a refugee to Eorzea and learned lancing from Gridania (starting city). She was known to be a bit of a 'derp'. Eventually went to join the Crystal Braves (you can probably guess how that ended).
Went into hiding before the whole ordeal blew up in Ul'dah and more-so after. Went to Ishgard, learned to be a Dragoon, helped out there in the Dragonsong War, learned she has a blessing from Hydaelyn (maybe the Echo? I dunno) when she got picked up and dumped off the bridge during the battle vs Nidhogg - she lived because she got sent back to the Ishgard aetheryte.
Went to Kugane to help the Eorzean Alliance get help from Doma by assisting in liberating it, had a very traumatic time in the Azim Steppe due to her heritage (note: very, very bad NSFW things happened to her) - ended up having her mental state scrambled as a result (this comes into play later). Then she helped out at the Ala Mhigan liberation - she now has an insatiable hatred for Zenos.
Creative-liberty shenanigans happen, and she ends up on the First with WoL. She learns lots about crafting and gathering in the Crystarium. She helps WoL fight Lightwardens with Scions. Further shenanigans go on via Eden, and she ends up having her aether warped almost completely towards the lightning aspect.
Phew, okay... there.
no native english speaking person so be Gentle with Wording and such
Wrote with my phone hoping that i got all mistakes that can happen through this
Sandriel, a clanless miqo'te born and raised in limsa lominsa.
Both her parents were adventurers and fall in love on there journey through eorzea.
Her father wanted Sandriel to learn in the arcanist guild and she learned hard and was good in her job. Her mother, a druid, wanted her to become a healer so both of them could protect other people together.
But the 7th calamity took place and her parents left Sandriel in Limsa alone to protect eorzea form the garlean Invasion.
We all know what happend shortly after and Sandriel wouldn't hear for many years the voices of her parents.
Because she was thinking they died at carthenau and due to the fact Limsa was damage through bahamuts attack, she decided to help rebuild her hometown and got later promoted to scholar.
Through all this rebuilding Sandriel was getting many new contacts and friends. Later she decided to learn at the Blacksmithing guild and opened years after this her own Shop.
Thats only a little inside of her whole story. I wrote her journey but got a little Blockade in my head and hoping that i get over this soon.
I subscribe to the Multiverse theory; if you can imagine it...it just might be so.
In my mind, Agent is a representation of me, albeit, younger and having a lot more fun, just living life in another world. Loosely controlled by me, or maybe not, still unclear. She wanders alone, with no one to answer to, she knows neither where she came from or where she will end up...and she is perfectly okay with that.
Maybe there is another her watching me live out my life, who knows, except I thought it...so perhaps it is so.
