Ran'jit's strength makes no sense

The Crystal Exarch gives off that Dumbledore/Mad-Eye Moody/Gandalf vibe. Not someone you want to mess with.

Besides, knowing that the Crystal Exarch helped stop the Lakeland Lightwarden, Ran'jit knew it would not be an easy fight.

And if anything, the final fight against Ran'jit should have been a trial, not a solo instance.

If Vauthry can get one, why not Ran'jit?

If Vauthry was like the Palpatine of the First, doesn't that make Ran'jit Darth Vader?

Emet-Selch was the Palpatine of the First, Vauthry was the Darth Vader only completely irredeemable due to having no connections to anyone. Emet-Selch was the one who created Lightwarden Vauthry in order to complete the rejoining plan. Emet-Selch was also the one to try to turn us into Vauthry's replacement by stalling us.

Or maybe Vauthry is the Jabba the Hutt since they're both fat and hedonistic. Then Ran'jit is the Boba Fett since he's on Vauthry's payroll.

Did you miss the part where he casually summoned a whole raid of WoL's across time and space? Or how he duped Vauthry? CE merely went there to buy time, and buy time he did. There is absolutely NO indication whatsoever that Ran'Jit would have an easy time battling against the CE, who's only sign of weakness thus far was being shot in the back.

The only reason people have to assume so is: CE was handled in a manner where you were never fully certain of how powerful he truly was - not until post-Innocence and the ending - and the fact Ran'Jit (just like Zenos in SB) was handled in the same "I'm stronger than you... Until you level up" manner.

If going by the Crystal Tower questline in ARR, and being the only one who can use the Crystal Tower, its safe to say CE is pretty damn powerful. Not to mention that CE spent god knows how long in the Tower to master its functions and abilities.

Moreover, he's the only one given the All-Rounder status in Trusts, which shows his versatility.

How does it make no sense for a grizzled veteran who's been fighting endlessly for who knows how long to put up a fight against the WoL? When someone like Zenos exists? IMO people are confusing game mechanics with actual ability and feats. He clearly uses some kind of mystical kung fu thing to disable the WoL in the first fight and didn't just outmatch them like zenos did

That's only the start of it. Even Urianger - Mr Duplicitous-Supreme himself - couldn't fathom just how much resolve the CE had and how much he had accomplished and to what end, through all those complex timey-wimey shenanigans. Anyone who genuinely thinks Ran'Jit would have had an 'easy time' with the CE have to ask themselves why he then didn't make a move on the two occasions they treated. The answers are a) That Ran'Jit may be brash but he's not stupid and b) almost the entirety of CE's existence (up until the reveal) was all about the mystery of a seemingly all-powerful stranger. Sure, most of us had suspected since the trailers about who it actually was, but nobody could have known the power-level even if they upheld that suspicion since the beginning.

In short, CE's is no slouch.

While I don't know if we'll get more Ran'jit in patches, I DO hope he gets a short story in the Rising updates this year, to flesh out his history with the Minfilias and maybe explain more.

Ran'jit is not that powerful really. He fought a close battle with Thancred which Thancred won because of the gunblade cartridges given to him by Minfilla....but when he fights the WOL in Eulmore...we pretty much obliterate him without the help of our other WOL friends.

Notice how we don't have cuts or near dead as was Thancred

Ran'jit is like General Grievous from Star wars...looks powerful but gets wrekt easily by Obi Wun !

Just as an aside I'm a little confused when people compare Primals - which generally ARE NOT solo instances to SOLO characters like Ran'jit.

Even an overworld monster can KO us if we're not smart enough :P
