Just saw this response. Yeah, I notice the oddity now. Huh.

This is incorrect. Pets may no longer have health, but that doesn't change their status as entities. You can still move them, all their abilities are still used by them (and not by the summoner) and they can still act independently from the Summoner (i.e. they can attack one enemy while the Summoner is attacking another.)
I also remember someone from the Media Tour saying you can still click on/interact with your egi, similar to how you'd interact with Minions.
I’m going to assume you have never used or paid for a high refresh gaming monitor and video card. And I don’t really have the time or the crayons to explain it. Also the PlayStation is a computer that uses the same components found in a PC - CPU, RAM, Hard Drive, Motherboard. It does however lack most of the upgrade paths that a standard pc has and has a customized operating system created by Sony. The unit was designed to expand usability while keeping production costs down. I personally think that the Xbox and PlayStation are great machines in their own rights but some of us want more and expect more therefor we pay for more. So it’s understandable that when one of our favorite games cripples our hardware we would get annoyed.

Pets can no longer be targeted by player or enemy actions.
* Attacks performed by a pet will generate enmity for the player who summoned it.
Bye Bye Titan Egi.
Maximum MP for all jobs has been fixed at 10,000.
The MP cost of actions has been adjusted accordingly.

So are there less areas than the previous expansions? It seems like there are 4 vs 6 or am I missing two?
If you mean the screenshot showing the four zones, there's already a fifth we know of, so that's not a complete list.
The fact that there's a sixth slot available leads us to believe there's a sixth undisclosed area, kinda like Azys Lla (although we had found out about Azys Lla by this point)
Bishop has been removed. Rook is now summoned using the Battery Gauge, remains for a period of time based on the amount expended, and then destroys itself with Overdrive. At 80 it upgrades to Automaton Queen. Neither can be targeted or affected by enemies or allies.
