I don't think it's really what was said, it's how they said it. It was kinda painful to read.
That's your opinion I guess. I also dislike the idea that people ignore somebody's points just because they dislike the way they worded them. It's whatever though I've said my piece.
Fair enough evidently I missed your comment.
No one is opposing people having a different opinion - they're just not sharing that opinion and expressing that. Disagreeing with someone isnt the same as telling a person that they cant have an opinion.
Its also not the OPs opinion thats the reason they're not being taken seriously, its their attitude and their presentation of said opinion. You can criticize the game in any way, wether its the visual design of gear or the conceptual design of content/gameplay, but if you want to be taken seriously (by your fellow players and/or the devs) you should make sure to present yourself in a way that can be taken seriously. The OP didnt do that and instead displayed the desire to also not change that.
Lastely to a degree I disagree with your statement of "we all should have a say in new content" - yes and no. Ultimately the say lies with the dev-team - we get a say on wether or not we like that and we can, if we really dislike it, vote with our wallets to leave. I also think some polls once in a while or things like the design contest are (or would be) a cool way to include the community more.
At the end of the day I strongly believe that while we can try and give suggestions (that are brought for in a polite and easy to read/understand manner), the say actually lies with the dev-team.
I dont think anyone really minds OP wanting more sexualized gear - I can tell you that my character wouldnt wear any, but it wouldnt bother me if they designed more, I'd simply just wouldnt wear it.
The way in which OP presented their wishes however was very annoying to read and the attitude they displayed made them look like a troll - or at the very least like someone who isnt capable of having a proper, polite discussion with. And thats whats bothering people - or at least its "bothering" me. (In the sense that I sighed a little about my obviously futile attempt to give OP the benefit of the doubt and took them seriously at first, but am now of the opinion that ignoring threads made by this person in the future might be the best course of action, since they're obviously not intrested in a serious discussion or making suggestions that I can take serious.)
How you word your stuff is important though if you want to make a serious suggestion! I dont mind someone making mistakes (heck, english isnt my native language and my posts are far from perfect when it comes to grammer etc.), but if you want people to take you serious, you need to give them clear indications that your post is intended to be serious. Loading it up with "jokes", smilies, lot of "lols" and the like will only achieve the opposite.
Loading up your post with unnecessary bits like that also makes it more difficult to read AND easier to miss the points you were actually making. Combine that with an unpleasent layout and no one is going to get what you're actually saying...
You know. On second reading of this I feel like this post wasn't really supposed to be provoking serious discussion. It's probably just supposed to be poking fun at the new content :P I feel a bit dumb getting so into this.
lol I remember back in the vanilla days of wow even through burning crusade there would be a 6-8 hour maintenance every single week. we have it pretty good nowadays with server stability being what it is and not needing to be rebooted and cleaned up every week.
Yas, slay queen. Go off, OP.
Also, if this is what people on Cactuar are like I am strongly reconsidering my transfer destination when the datacenter reshuffle happens lol
