"white raven earrings will not appear in arr"
"Ninja will be last class we add mid expansion/patch"
im sure they could do it again
but it seems like we are just getting rid of the classes like Gladiator,THM etc etc

Nope, cause it don't work like a job. It don't have to be balanced like a job has to be. The problem with NIN was balancing it while new content get release patch after patch, they said they won't release a job mid-xpac because its a pain to balance. BLU don't bring this problem, he's released at the end of the xpac, nothing new will be released before ShB and he won't need any balancing for the new raid, new dungeon or trial since he just can't do them.
As a SUM/SCH main I love this idea. As others have said they fixed the balacne issues between the 2 and many current classes in the game could "fixed" by doing this. DRK could be switched to a DPS to fit with how the class works in the rest of the series with the tank side being rename Mystic Knight. MCH currently feels more like a Musketeer so they could take what we have now with a few tweaks and make it in to a new class, while also making a true MCH (more gadget like shooting). RDM you could have 3 different stones for all named RDM that focus on healing, casting, and melee (RDM(H), RDM(C), RDM(M)).
And just some other random ideas...
Conjurer could get Geo as a DPS option
Gladiator could get Knight as ether a dps or tank with no magic
Marauder could get berserker as a dps
Pugilist could get Dancer as a healer
Archer could get Ranger
didnt need SB to do the Rising event 2018 i made this joke too but it doesnt work
Jobs a job mate
just because it cant do as much content as the others doesn't make it not one
it can still do all the arr stuff
hence why its a Limited Job
it will probably still sit with BLM,SMN and RDM on the level screen have its own little soul stone too
*sight* All I'm saying is, Releasing a limited job who don't work at all like any other job nor is concerned by upcoming addition isn't the same AT ALL than a full fledged job who need to be rebalance patch after patch during a xpac for him to be on par with other, its too much work for no benefit they want to avoid, on the contrary BLU have is own balance for 5 years old content with the mind set of "don't care if he destroy everything in is path".
The "its a job like any other job" is a misconception, he's not much more of a job than racing chocobo are mount.
Not only did I wish they stuck with the multiple-jobs-from-one-base-class thing, I'd hoped they'd make the base classes themselves viable. That was clearly the intention in the beginning - base classes had one advantage over jobs, and that was that they could equip ten cross-class abilities instead of just five, and had fewer restriction in which abilities they could take.
Sadly, they made it clear early on that this would not be happening. SCH/SMN was declared a mistake, and no effort was made to make classes viable after level 30. I'm resigned to it now, but can't help but wonder from time to time What Might Have Been...
i saw a puggalist in the scathach raid back when it was new and they did just fine, base classes are viable they just dont have as many options
classes are just a relic of 1.0 times
back then a class had 10 cross-class slots and a pretty huge pool of skills to pull from while a job had 5 cross-class skills that could only be pulled from the unlock jobs and in exchange had the 5 job skills to make it fit a party role better.
So you'd stay as a class for the more powerful jack-of-all-trades aspect for most stuff and switch to jobs for structured party content
but now cross-class has been reduced to the point of why does it even exist. Seriously everyone has 10 skills and 10 slots why is setting them even a thing?
and jobs come packaged with a pretty hefty stat boost on top of the job skills, so now not being a job is only hurting you with no tradeoff
so now the whole point of classes has been diminished to nothing aside from arcanist. Which i think was just an experiment in giving classes a new reason to exist and they realized none of the other classes were designed with branching jobs in mind like arcanist was making it a monumental task to retrofit them into something usable
probably just easier to leave it as is with a sort of promoting to jobs thing rather than going back and removing classes altogether.
going back and separating scholar and summoner would probably be more beneficial in the long run than branching other jobs at this point, Would probably be a lot easier for SE to optimize and balance if a dps and healer didn't share half their skills lol
